Is there anyway to get the google assistant or bixby or any other sort of voice control to play music stored on the device? I usually use gonemad music player but google assistant only seems to work with google play music. Fine. Downloaded google play music. If I ask it to play a track already stored on the device it plays it through youtube! All I want it to do is when I say, for example "Ok google, Play Purple Rain by Prince" for it to open up a music player and play it from device storage, not through youtube or a subscription service! This seems to be unnecessarily difficult. Anything I am missing here?

over the last few days or week at most my battery life on my Galaxy S8 has become tragic. I am noticing that even when I am not using or touching my phone the batter is depleting quite fast. Has there been an update or anything which has caused this?

Check to make sure you don't have any rogue apps draining it.

Think I found it, I installed Waze navigation recently. Looked at my usage and Google services is using a huge amount!

I have an app called bubble upnp and it frequently sits in the background trashing my battery. Very annoying.
I have to constantly run the optimization program to get rid of it.

Definitely worth running the optimization app every now and then. Closes any stubborn battery sapping apps running in the background.
Great purchase for £520 I'd say. It's an excellent phone.
It should notify you automatically if apps are misbehaving, one if the few good features about this phone, but also a necessary one due the appalling memory management.

Yes on Oreo things changed and any device running Oreo requires it. The previous Samsung addon for Nougat Samsung phones no longer applies. If you're on Nougat though, then you do need the Sungstratum addon which is developed by another team who made the Samsung layers framework play ball with Sunstratum.

Just walked past a huge queue for the iPhone X, I don't understand the mentality of people that queue to buy a phone.
Made sure to pull out my S8+ and walked extra slow next to them.
Amazing people are queueing up to part with £1000 for a phone that is inferior to one you can buy for half the price
