since going over to the oreo beta, I've noticed a couple of things...
the samsung messenging app crashes all the time and pairing my phone to my car's bluetooth is now a nightmare trying to get any of the music apps to play. Anybody else had these issues?
 
Clear cache and data for the Messaging app, if all else fails then there are many alternative SMS apps like Google Messenger that are better in various ways.

As for bluetooth, not had any issues pairing to other devices yet on beta 2.

Came here wondering the same thing. Beta 1 was fine for me, if anything improving battery life. But 2 is definitely sapping power from somewhere.

I don't really care as long as it gets me through the day, so don't have any proper stats, but have definitely noticed there being much less left and the end of the day with beta 2. Looking at battery statistics there are no standout apps to kill either. Strange.

Samsung are aware of faster draining battery on beta 2 and have confirmed it's being fixed in the next update. I posted about it in the beta community section.

Yeah, good to know. Have perused the community forum over my lunch break and a few people have raised the concern.

No probs with bluetooth (S8 beta 2) but thinking on I connect via USB and use Android Auto. Phone calls work over BT. My BT headphones work fine.

Had noticed battery draining a little faster on beta 2 so good to know it's not just me and they're working on it.
 
I wish the changelog listed all the changes, rather than having to find them all lol.

I think we're supposed to get the changelog in the notification we get from the members app when a beta is released, but whenever i try to open the notification its just blank. At least somebody got it and posted up on the beta forum
 
Yeah I got a random BETA notice this morning but when I opened the app there was nothing there :confused:

Anyway, update downloading now. Had to clear all apps to get it.
 
Beta 3 seems slicker than beta 2 for sure, sharing menu now loads quicker too for the extended "direct shares" section. Not instant.

My only gripe is I had to rescan my music on SD card (several thousand songs) as the SD path has reverted back to how it was o Nougat (the correct path structure). At least now it won't change again :p
 
Surprising that there doesn't seem to be any deals for this at all really (from good sites). With word of the gs 9 being announced/released around February/March, might be worth me just waiting until then rather than paying £500 for the gs 8 now, unless my 5x happens to bootloop between now and then.....
 
On a separate note.

I know a fair few here have dbrand skins due to the glass back, which one do you prefer, leather probably be the "comfiest"?
 
Guys, just nipping in here from the Note 8 thread, what sort of battery life are you guys getting with the slightly higher capacity battery? I am plenty happy with the 6 hours screen on time at a decent brightness (my average at the moment), is the S8 or plus substantially better?
