**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

So i'm tempted by the voda 30gb data + spotify deal for the 8+ from smartphone company. Does vodafone have wifi calling like three does? Anyone had any luck getting a better deal out of three than they are offering? I'm going to try and phone them and tell them i want to leave as vodafone have a very good offer on and see what they say.

Three couldn't come anywhere near close to vodafone offer so i've ordered the one i mentioned above, which works out at £34 / month after cashback and spotify (i already pay for for) the 8+.
Don't know whether i'll get it on 20th April though, don't mind either way tbh.
Now to look for a case.

Can anyone recommend a case that will be suitable to give all round protection for a S8.

I've been using a cheapo, wrap around (book style) leather case on my S6 which has given unsurpassed protection for the past few years.
This is despite the fact I'm a manual worker and my phone can be subjected to quite a bit of abuse either in my pocket while I'm laying face down in lofts or getting covered in dust drilling core holes in walls.

As I'd like to preserve the life of my phone I'm unsure whether a case such as the spigen range mentioned in this thread already will suit my needs or do I need to wrap it in bubble wrap?

There are plenty of hard heavy cases that cover the entire phone - I have not used these but I have spigen tough armor for note4 and the quality is really good. The only question is whether or not you need a screen protector as well as this is not protected apart from little raised bump on sides to protect screen of you drop it. If you can think of a scenario when you can stab the screen with a hammer/drill or whatever heavy object then you might need to get screen prorector as well, or easier a full leather case.

If you put it face down in your pocket in the spigen tough armor, after watching how durable the screen is on these I think it would be fine but then again you will know best. Perhaps have two cases, one for work and another for weekends ;)

On another note, my chitter chatter quidco cashback tracked at £35 :O.

£605 for s8, not too bad if that goes through, my Sim only is only 10pm so £840 total worst case scenario if I keep the Sim rolling for 24 months.

Yep the Vodafone 24gb and 30gb have disappeared off smartphonecompany :( 16gb is now £48/mo and £44.99 upfront for the s8+

Yeah they appear to have jacked up all their deals (they've basically changed a few here and there) and actually appears done away with 12 month options on Handset contracts. They were the only ones who offered that really at this point as well.

Glad I've pulled the trigger on Sim only and didn't try to wait out for better deas ad I don't think we will be getting any for quite a while looking at the interest in this - apparently in Korea they've got 550 000 pre orders in first 2 days and seeing how much voda retentions didn't care when I rang them I reckon theyve sold quite a large number as well.

Let's just hope there won't be any stock shortage/delays.
