**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

Has anyone heard owt from samsung direct yet? - I placed my pre-order back in March, but order is still showing as "NOT PROCESSED".

When do we get our phones lol? - 8 days before launch or somat? my z3 is in dire need of replacement!
 
Anybody got any thoughts on Samsung's 24 month price plan with the option to a free upgrade in a years time to the latest model after you've sent your 2017 S8/S8+ back?

Works out just a tiny bit cheaper than selling phone after a year and adding £££ on top to buy new one and you're pretty much forced to do it every single year or otherwise it's not worth it, unless you can't afford to buy outright or can't get 0%Apr loan elsewhere.

Was quite interested in it until I've read you actually have to return your phone.
 
Is anyone going for a clear case? If so, which one?

I currently have an S6 edge that has always been in a Ringke Slim clear case which I found to be much better than Samsung's clear case. It is extremely slim but feels solid and protected the screen and body perfectly for the 3-4 times I dropped the phone in the last two years. I've just pre-ordered an S8 and searched for but couldn't find a Ringke Slim clear case for it listed as of yet.
 
Whats everyone doing as far as screen protectors goes ? This will be my first phone with curved edges and i've heard that the tempered glass ones are pretty crap

Nothing mate, I've not consistently used one for years. Gorilla Glass has gotten that good now that through normal use I don't get as much as a small scratch on my screens for phones. Don't see the point in them anymore personally.

Also the way the tempered glass ones sit on any curved or 2.5D glass looks awful in my opinion.
 
Did anyone get the spigen slim armor with kickstand? I'm thinking about it but the ringke flex s ? The ringke one with red leather coating looks great on the picture. I'd like a kickstand as well but the one spigen case looks tiny and flimsy, whilst I'm sure it will work great on flat and even surface, on anything outside of the office (grass, blanket, bed) it probably won't work at all.

Suppose I can get both and return as they're on prime..
 
They're not cheap though, the spigen I've got for note4 is excellent and good build quality but makes it a bit too bulky, need something slimmer

I suppose this is where you would choose form over function, I'm looking for something really slim, but at the same time, I do want to remove my wallet.

If I get a decent phone case, I can remove my wallet and house keys in 1 go (keyless door and wallet on phone)
