**The Official Star Wars Battlefront II Thread (PC)**

People shouldn't be buying this. Don't promote EA's ideals. Also like last year's version, it will be dead in a couple of months and hit bargain bin prices. The game is 95% hype and inferior to the 2005 version in every way except graphics.

Belgium’s gambling regulators are investigating Battlefront 2 loot boxes

Doubt much will come if it but glad this is gaining traction.

This needs doing for the gaming industry as a whole as it's infected loads of recent games. It's un-licenced gambling by the back door and I'm suprised the gambing industry (who are very heavily regulated) isn't kicking off about it as well.

Right now you can bet EA's PR team will be trying to convince metacritic to remove most of the negative reviews. That's how they think, not about the customers or the product, but their own image and profits above all.

But I think it might be a new record for lowest metacritic score AND most downvoted reddit post ever lol

Twitter post by GOG:

I just don't understand how we can go from that 12 years, which effectively offered a hell of a lot more content, to what we have today

It's like we've gone backwards in gameplay as graphics have gotten better, why can't we have nice eye candy and good gameplay ?

I might buy the new version when it goes to £4 like last years version I'm sure I'll get £4 worth of "fun" out of it but even then I'm not sure it's even worth paying £4 for the mobile gaming equivalent of battlefield with Star Wars skins

Jim Sterling jimpressions is up, as expected car crash, I think he was a little soft on it to be honest. Can't link because of swearies, but you know what to do if you want more of a laugh. And people still enquire about wanting to buy this game :eek:

Lol at reporting to gambling commission.

Hmm is a kinder surprise egg gambling?
Are football stickers gambling?

There are loads of things in life you can buy where you don’t know exactly what you will get.

Your reaction to trying to do something about the ****-poor state that some AAA games are turning into with micro-transactions is lol? At least I'm trying to do something for the consumer.

True there are lots of things in life where you don't know what you're getting, but this isn't whataboutism. We're focusing on loot crates on a AAA game which has clearly been designed to only entice customers to purchase micro-transactions, not a 50p chocolate egg.

If I bought this from Greenman gaming, played it for 6 hours could I get a refund through origin?

Or a refund at all?

You could try going down the 'Item not as described' route and see if you get any joy.

Consumer Rights Act 2015 said:
Just like goods, digital content must be:

  • of satisfactory quality
  • fit for a particular purpose
  • as described by the seller.
If digital content does not conform to these criteria, you have the right to a repair or replacement of the digital content you've bought.

But if a repair or replacement isn't possible, or doesn’t fix the situation, you can ask for a price reduction. This can be up to 100% of the cost of the digital content.
