Isn’t this just a progression of the ‘pay to win’ model that already exists in bf4 and BF1?

Go into origin now and you’ll be able to pay extra for unlocks to get better equipment to play witH in bf4/1. I’m not defending the battlefront model but wondered why the hate for Battlefront when it’s simply an evolution of what we’ve been ‘lapping’ up for a long time.

Again.....

Are people not seeing that there is more to this than just "zOMG PAY2WIN!!!"

The problem is that the game was made to be extremely grindy in order to push people to buying lootboxes and the star cards etc. provide far more of an advantage than any unlock weapon/gadget/perk in bf games especially when you level the star cards etc. up, which is where pay to win comes into play as well as pay to "progress" because levelling up/upgrading the star cards across all classes would take 2000+ hours of gameplay......

BF 1 and BF 3/4 and so on are nowhere near as grindy, it does not take 6000+ hours to unlock everything in those games unlike SWBF 2......

And again, are the ones that are saying that bf 3/4 and 1 unlocks are OP by any chance just **** players looking for excuses to explain their incompetence in games? I came to bf 1 a year late and had no problem topping leaderboards with a decent k/d and nothing but the bare basic guns and likewise with guys from here who had <50 hours in the game coming back to the game 1 year later on who also had hardly anything unlocked.....

They're just trying to push too much with revenue generation, charging £54 for a game - then also charging micro transactions on top is just going too far imo, they should have expected a backlash, as they don't exactly have a good reputation in the community with selling loot boxes full of better weapons.

They got too greedy and it backfired badly,

The only good thing you need from lootcrates is craft parts and cards. You can craft cards then when at a high enough rank you can upgrade.

I'm level 17 and as soon as i am 20 i can upgrade all my cards to max for assault heavy and specialist i hope, depending how much it costs as i only have 2000 parts

I cannot see them abandoning this 100% it's just a quick pacification exercise to kick start sales and appease the share holders - The press release doesn't state anything other than they have taken the 'feature' offline for now.

They will end up finding another way to position it like selling advancement packs /weapon packs / Elite char packs at a later date.

They don't fool me !

Well since i got home tonight i've been playing. Can honestly say i'm really really enjoying it.

It is exactly what is says on the tin... Its not really competitive, instead its emmersive. I've not bought this game to play in ESL.... I've bought it to just simply enjoy the universe and an easy going run and gun game!

So far, very very happy.... Only once i've been killed by someone who i think p2w, Rey, had full set of purples. But got hammered the following match!

Happy. Sorry if that upsets a few people..... Lets hope they dont bring back loot boxes!

Hope everyone here doesn't buy it to send a message saying we're sick of microtransactions actions crap even cosmetics/loot boxes. You pay over £30 you shouldn't need to buy anything else the game should work, be fun, not be too grindy otherwise feels like a work.

Completed the 'campaign'. It had its fun moments but the main characters are very unlikeable. I played on the middle of three difficulty levels and the enemy AI can best be described as 'potato'. You can easily stand in the open and they won't get you. I only died a handful of times and I'm very rubbish at shooters.

On to some multiplayer.

Not sure what to use the credits for? Just more crates?
