OK, I need help with one of the UEF SP missions. It's the one where you have to destroy the Aeon base on the island. The problem is with their ACU Eris (?) - I can't even so much as scratch him. I've got the island surrounded, landed ground units in at the weaker south side.....but as soon as I advance into the middle he takes out my units with one shot and none of my units even do any damage to him whatsoever :(

Why is he pwning me in such a righteous fashion? :o

That mission was designed to get you used to using naval power.

By that stage (final expansion of the map) you have access to cruisers and destroyers. Use these to take her out from long range. Alternatively you can use gunships, but this isn't really as effective as naval power.

Aye, don't know why I didn't think of that. I built a fleet of cruisers and the ACU was mince within a couple of minutes :)
 
Been playing for a few days now on the UEF campaign, if just done the fourth level, which is against the Cybrans, and killed the commander, he dose some speech and dies, but the level won’t end. All the objectives have been completed, and all enemies on the level are dead, and im just stuck there with nothing to do. :(

Has anyone now of a way to end the level, or has anyone got a saved game for me so i can get onto the next level, the fifth one?

Well, if you can find a way to actually fail the mission you have the option to skip it and go on to the next one. IIRC you can fail the mission by having Dr Sweeny's truck get destroyed on its way to the quantum gate (some gunships come to try and attack it). Alternatively you could try suiciding your ACU, but I don't know if this is even possible on SP.

If you're still having problems tonight when I get home I can send you a save game from the start of the 5th mission. Let me know your email addy and what difficulty level you want (I have ones from medium and hard).

iv been trying to improive performance on this game for a while, just wondering if anyone with a similar pc to mine gets bad performance, like when playing offline in a skirmish, and i speed the game up to x10, It gets really stuttery and bad.

Thants because you are trying to play in +10 :rolleyes: imagine the game running at normal speed and how many commands your processor is trying to make, no imagine your processor trying to do those commands 10 times faster... You'll need some pretty hefty overclock for that ;) my advice, don't play on +10... lower the game speed untill it stops becoming stuttery

Ctrl+K still works in SP...

You know, I'm on that mission too and found a glitch early on. There were some enemy tanks half submerged off the coast - but they were just showing up as the little icon you get when fully zoomed out - even when zoomed right in. My ground units couldn't hit them - didn't even seem to recognize them. In the in I had to get some subs over and find a good angle to hit them. Took me ages :p

Yes, but does it also work on the ACU? After all, in SP once your ACU is gone the game is over.

It probably does though, and would be an easy way to skip through the levels if so.

The icon shouldn't have been there when fully zoomed in, you should have been able to see them through the water (unless you've turned off some graphical options). Apart from that, everything is normal. Ground units can't attack submerged tanks (like the cybran amphibian tank). You need something with torpedo capabilities to attack them. Note that underwater the tanks also fight back with torpedos, but these are pitifully weak compared to the ones on the subs.

Yeah, it was definitely a glitch as all I could see was an icon. My subs only seemed to be able to see them at certain angles as well, hence it took me a while. Actually, I think one of them would appear and disappear when you zoomed in and out.....some sort of random clipping error I guess.

Well i gave it a go, and the mission just failed when Dr Sweeny gets killed, and i cant destroy the ACU :(

By the way, once you have failed a mission and you go to the scoreboard screen, you can click the 'skip' button to advance to the next mission.


edit - oops, sent mission 4 start by mistake. Sending 5 now...

anyone want to team up for some games?

do we have a clan or anything? i find looking for 2v2 games on GPGNet brings up about 5 generally all titles something like 'n00bz only 2v2' lol.

any offers?

Was woundering if anyone has a similar setup to me and if so how does supcom play for you. Just i might get it and was woundering if i would have any trouble or not in large battles. I mean how big a battle and how many ai till it slows down to much?
