** The Official WWDC 2012 Thread **

Popped into the Covent Garden Apple store (Regents Street has no RD MBP on display) to have a looksee at the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

Looks good in the Keynote. In real life it's in a different league. The screen is amazing and you cam set it so you get more space instead of just the retina effect. Using it you get used to the screen. The machine is lightning fast and very quiet.

Then you go look at a MBA or the non RD MBP and all of a sudden the screens on those look like rubbish.

If you don't want your wallet damaged do not go look at one of these in the flesh. Seriously.

I hope your all speccing 16GB with your Retina MBP, otherwise your bait shafted...

I personally hate this endless fight towards thinness.

Sometimes I want to change my memory.
Sometimes I want to change my SSD to something that isn't proprietary.

*sigh*

Yeah I only learnt today that the memory and SSD aren't upgradable... the more I look at it the more I dislike the way they have gone. I'm starting to think is should be referred to as a MacBook "Pro".

Not trying to start a debate, I just think as a pro user I would rather have the connections built in ready to use rather than additional adapters and no ability to install better components... damn shame.

16GBs and 512GB storage will outlast my use with the system, so I am fine with that.

I will be buying Apple care once out of warranty though!

Has anyone with iPad 3 installed ios6 via a developer account ?

When I log in and select 3G and wifi I'm given AT&T or Verizon versions of ipsw

WhIch one do I use?

Use the AT&T one. The Verizon one is for CDMA connections, ie not us in the UK.

I've got the AT&T one on mine.
