Game share only covers games, not xbox live. you'll need to buy another yearly sub on the account that doesn't have it.
Yeah, I’ve seen it download the same size for other 360 games like Mass Effect.
Am I right in thinking I can set one Xbox as a home Xbox which will enable all users on that console to have live, and let me use my own account on my other xbox?

So, it’s been months since I’ve used my Xbone. Today I was playing Viva Pinata (360 BC game) fine and dandy. Hit Xbox button and went and had a look on YouTube for something and then went to Edge for something else.
When I went back to select Viva Piñata from the games list, it ran through the Xbox 360 startup animation again and loaded the game afresh. Does the Xbone not suspend games so you can instantly resume them or did I do something wrong like opening more than one app?

Ah, thanks. I was wondering if it might be something like that. So you can’t choose any app at all, even something like settings, without the 360 game quitting?
He will only be able to play live on one xbox. (whichever the gold member has set as their home xbox)

Question about console sharing.
I share with my friend as we play the same games and it’s worked great for ages. He’s since bought another Xbox to be used with his profile we are linked on, he can see our shared games on the original console we set of his as my home but when he signs into his new Xbox it doesn’t work (even though he’s transferred all the games over). My understanding is my home is tied to his actual console rather than the gamertag, is this correct? Can anything be done so it would work on both his consoles (both on the same single profile??).

No, he’ll have to pick one of his consoles. You can’t have two Homes. You can change Home consoles but I can’t remember if there is a limit, like once a month or something to stop precisely what you’re trying to do.
