Too right. I just bought my brother up to my pc to see this demo and he was impressed.

I love the big room at the end just before you get sent to medical. Its amazing you shoot them with fire and they jump into the pool in the middle ! :D

Then you give em the shock treatment :D :D

Love the plasmids!!

The difference is 1fps between DX9 and DX10 in Bioshock with the non "bioshock" nvidia drivers on a 8800GTS :)

Im hearing similar things with the 2900, just like the devs said DX10 mode takes no hit. Only problem is a few missing textures but rest assured I have contacted ATi and things will be progressing. Hopefully a hotfix is on the way

Bioshock dont look that good on those screenshots, too many jaggys.

Excellent excuse there, rofl-mayo.

It looks superb if you ask me, it might not support AA right now but you don't notice any jaggies in game.

I think some folk have been exposed to FSAA for far too long...

I thought DX10 was intended to bring major performance boosts i.e a game woud run quicker on DX10 than DX9 while looking slightly better...

From those screenshots can't see what all the fuss was about. They look virtually identical and run at similar FPS.

The thing is the only DX10 part of this game is the water and surface reflection effects. The game itself is DX9. It's not a pure dx10 game like Crysis.

NO AA is supported?? Your joking right? We need 7.9 drivers asap. I just thought the Xbox360 demo looks better.

This is true, even if there are ways to enable it. I won't be using it. It just dosn't need it. Once your in game you can see why.

Ye its very immersive and i also love the fact that when you walk through running water it runs all down your screen for a momemt :D

It looks awesome without AA.

Ok, ok, sometimes you notice it on a window sill or something, how it's a tad jagged, but c'mon, you could say that the textures don't look like real life.

It look AMAZING. And that's coming from a guy who can't see half of it.

Only about 15-30 mins if you're on that multi5 one.
Yeah that's the one. I have no idea how you can tell how long it'll take? Is there a way to find out - or is it just based on your past experiences/mystical powers?

Hmmm with your 2900XT 512MB it seems your card runs it better than 8800GTS?

Or is it because I'm on a socket 939 cpu ? I'd be interested in knowing as I "could" upgrade ram, cpu, mobo if my gfx card is capable of pushing those framerates when matched with a capable cpu<>ram combo!

I'm downloading it now, I highly doubt my a 1.2Ghz celeron with intergrated graphics will run it tbh.

When youu get to play it for yourself on a better pc you will realise it doesn't even need aa.

I'm really hard to please in the graphics department. I thought F.E.A.R looked crap. After sitting through Bioshock demo i can honestly say hand on heart im finally very very impressed

Just got done playing it...

Artisitic direction: Awesome
Gameplay: Fun fun fun

Have to say that the graphics were not as good as I was expecting, probably more to do with the way modern graphics are going rather than anything Bioshock did wrong to be honest. While I love the effect all that bump mapping does I hate the fact that it sometimes looks really low resolution.

Anyway, My E6600 and 8800 GTS handled it pretty well, there were a few bits where you could feel it bogging down a bit, but certainly nowhere near unplayable.

Yeah I thought that was cool (xbox 360, haven't played PC yet) but I showed a mate and he said "That's cool and everything, but in real life you don't see that..."

Which is kind of true, unless the character your playing has his head inside a glass box, you wouldn't see splats of water like that! :D

I should be playing it on wensday, depends when my ram gets back, I'm glad I bought a 2900XT now tho, just hope my ram works this time so I can play games.
