**The one and only Official BioShock Thread**- now with added **SPOILERS**

Is force global lighting an option that would make the graphics worse or better? Just played through at 1920x1200 with everything up full and vsync on, no stuttering just black textures all over the place. :(

Ive really no idea if its a game id buy, the whole dark places combined with people jumping out at you kinda freaks me out in some ways. :(

Global lighting makes it worse - it's like static lighting in STALKER hence why when you select the high presets global lighting is never on.

It Excites me !

nah, defo not smooth enougth for me, think I'll complete this on the 360 first then redo it on the pc when the 9800's are out, it's fairly smooth up until when you get to the last area then it's joggo vison, graphics wise it looks no difference from the 360 version anyway so unless your really desperate to use the mouse&keyboard combo then I'd say go with the 360 version for a uber smooth experiance of the game, also the sound via a ciniema system far out ways most pc setups, the surround sound just did'nt seems that sourround if you get my meaning, I had to check my pc settings to to make sure that it was'nt stuck in stereo, now where near the enjoyable experiance I had on the 360, no stress about pc settings, super smooth, pretty much the same graphics and movie like sound, 360>PC I'm afraid to say until I get my 9800 then hopefully it will be PC>360 :D .

It sounds great via stereo! granted my stereo setup consists of a good amp, floorstanders and good cabling but you don't need 5.1 to get a good experience either!

 No audio for me in the game, I get it on the menu and during the intro video but as soon as the game starts, where you actualy start playing there is no audio. Obviously a driver issue but im suprised im the first to come across it.

As im on Vista and it was a HUGE struggle to get any sound out of my card in the first place (1st gen SB:Live) im 99% sure im going to need another sound card to play this. :(

However everyother game/video/music I have works fine, *shakes fist at BioShock*

dude, I'm all for agreeing that music sounds a lot better via stereo becuase sourround sound can never beat a decent stereo sound stage but when it comes to films and games I allways prefer surround sound, via my 360 I have the sound going through 5/1 amp to B&W speakers, it blows my pc setup out of the water, granted I only have cheapy 5.1 logitechs on my pc setup but for a game like this I really feel it belongs on a big screen with a decent sourround sound setup chilling on your sofa at night, lights off, getting creeped out by all the strange sounds coming from behind you, for me that means it's best being played on the 360 and I love PC gameing.

Oh I agree with you for sure, what I meant was that stereo still sounds awesome with the right setup :) like you have a great 5.1 setup a good stereo setup sounds equally impressive!

doing a propper test now

Looks like my 2900 is running even faster than your GTX @ 1280x1024

Im going to re run through the demo and do a Fraps benchmark so we can get an idea of MIN, MAX AVG fps.

Done the Fraps benchmark,

Everything maxed @ 1680x1050 specs in sig

Min Max Avg
