The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

Saying that, the place that everyone is buying from actually do not know themselves what the next batch of 144s (due 25th) and the 146s (due 19th October) will be. They may even be the CABNE ones. (I emailed someone who works there).

Hope this helps.
Keep on dreaming!!! i doubt it! fingers crossed for my 146!

lol at richdog's suspension!!!

don't cheek the admin!
Read the rules they are there for a reason.
OCUK don't want their forums used to encourage people away from their business.
I know you can't reply to this cos you're suspended!!
I'm sure a ocuk forum suspension won't stop you cos you have posted in about every opty threaded forum there is!
See ya soon ;)

What was the point in that post, keep on topic please!

only skimmed this post, but has anyone overclocked these with a Neo Plat 2 NF3?

I shall hopefully be dropping a 148 (CABYE though) in the Neo Plat2 NF3 later not familiar with this board as it only arrived today.

Will try and update some results later today or over the weekend thats if I dont blow something up first.

ive got a 144 cabge arriving monday, hopefully hit 2.6 or 2.8 and im happy (anyone seen any results for the cabbage?), will update when it arrives :)

Hy crash&burn what motherboard have you got m8 my dfi will not go over 2.5 with the same chip as you on standard volts it don't help with me being a NOOB with amd tho :( any tips you would like to pass on would be apriciated cheers or anyone else got any tips plz

any1 with an 144 hits the magic 3Ghz yet? the highest I got now is 329x9 (2961Mhz) :|

Shads: give it some more voltage :D you should be safe with something like 1.55v, watch the temp though ;)

Burning my 148 in at 2750mhz(11 x 250) on default volts approx 1.36 according to CpuZ with load temps at 44 degrees.

Not able to complete 1M Super Pi without an error at the moment hence the burn in....but the chip has only been in for 30 minutes :D

Its a Cabbage if anyone is interested. If this keeps up it should be a good one.

148 CABNE 0528 currently Priming (11 hours so far) @ 2.9GHz @ stock volts in a Shuttle SN95G5 V2. The CABNE's are great, but for the money you cannot go wrong with any Opteron steppings so far. I probably would have gone for a cheaper 144 or 146 if my Shuttles HTT wasn't limited to 280.

For info, my chip would not reach 2.9 on stock volts day1. It failed Prime in seconds and needed a days hard training @ 2.8 to bed it in.

looks like its not a cabbage after all, hope im lucky aswell :D

I needed to put an extra .025 volts on it to complete 1mb PI @ 30.812 secs

My ram timings are carp at the minute as I am just shooting to see how far this chip will go.

Going to play some UT now and then will probably burn it in overnight then start again in the morning.

:( Wish i had te money to upgrade :(

Need a new mobo, chip and even GFX to make it worth while!
Then a PSU etc grrrrr I quite fancy one of these if i had the cash!!

Stepping: CABYE 0536GPMW
Cooling: XP120 + 20dba Akasa 120mm Fan
Motherboard: DFI NF4 Ultra-D
Memory: Corsair 3200XL (TCCD)

Seem's my processor's not willing to play. Stable on stock volts up to around 2.5ghz, then after that the volts seem to creep up quickly to get it stable. Can get into Windows @ 2.9ghz with 1.55v - but can't get it stable.

Stable:
2.5ghz @ 1.4v
2.6ghz @ 1.5v

Consider it a work in progress. Any suggestions on how to get things higher without increasing the volts too much? My cooling isn't up to much - sacrifising cooling performance for a quiet pc.

I am just running CPU Burn In overnight with mine and Super Pi when I get a chance.
I am keeping the volts low and trying to work the chip as hard as I can and then checking for Prime stability.

Its a slow old progress, heres a link to a thread about burning in chips with low volts on OCForums.Com

http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=382751

Thought I would give it a try with this new chip and it does seem to be working

Sloth

I had to up the LDT voltage to 1.4 and the Chipset to 1.7 to get mine stable. ;)
Also I find it more stable to use the cpu voltage multiplyer. 1.375 x 113%
Try that if you haven't already.

Is it worth trying one of these out?

I'm running a 3000 venice @ 2.9 Ghz, or 3 Ghz for benches, on water.

It seems the CABNE's are FX cores, and the others are just quite good overclockers?

I would want 2.9 Ghz guaranteed on water to justify the extra cost (the 1MB cache would be worth the £30 price difference between my chip and the opteron).

Well after much messing with my 148 (CABYE) in my new Neo Plat2 NF3 I am finding my chip is needing some burning in to get it stable at above 1.9GHz

It goes into windows above 3GHz but fails prime

Air cooling with a XP-90c and a YS-Tech 92mm Fan Speed - 2400RPM Temps are 34 Idle / 52 Load with 1.53v

Currently burning in at 2.86GHz / 11x / HTT 260MHz / Mem 260MHz / 1T / Crucial PC4000

32m Super PI Returns 26m 55.578s
