The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

Mine's installed now, BIOS doesn't recognise it but it's set it to the correct speed and CPU-Z is picking it up ok. Sent an email to Gigabyte asking when they plan to update the BIOS revision.

At stock speeds it's marginly faster than my 3200 Winchester, also at stock on 1M SuperPI.

A round of 32M and temp hasn't gone above 32°C, this is with the case side off mind.

Will start to fiddle now ;)

heres one for you rich why do certain boards now come with a molex connector?

I believe it's to provide more stable voltages to motherboards with the increasing demands of PCI-E etc. My DFI has one. :) :)

EDIT - Oh **** it's not plugged in!

Have you bought the SLI version? If not, then no as the other PCIe slots will be 1x slots, not 16x ones. They're physically a different size - so if this is the case there is no way to mod it.

You can mod it I think but im not sure how, check out DFI forums and do a Google.

Should you be accepting advice from me? Probably not. :D

Got some Gskill LE's arriving tomorrow, will see what my CABYE can really do, 2.5Ghz is rock solid at stock volts so should be good for a whole lot more, I'm idling at 26 degrees, load is about 32 :D

Im so close to 3Ghz now !!!

Hey Ken when you burn in do you use high voltages or low voltages?

Cheers

I left the CPU at 1.648v and play CS:S, run S&M, Prime, SP...etc..cant remember but always at higher voltage than necessary

Darth Sidious: it should fit no problems :D

Richdog: please dont hate me, hate the guys with 3Ghz at stock voltages..im not there yet :p
