The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

Hmm well I can't reach the bloody thing because of my SI-120 so i'll just save it for another time.

Ran 4 hours PRIME @ 2.7ghz fine while browsing so im moving up to 2.8ghz (there now) but voltage is a bit high lol, around 1.7v.

Just got my 148, it's a CABYE 0536.

Running now at 3Ghz, 300 HTT x 10 at 2.5,4,4,8 1:1. 1.6v in cpu-z for the vcore and 2.8 for the ram. Was doing 2.8Ghz still on 1.4v vcore default!!

Getting 28 secs 1M Super Pi which seems about right from the other screen shots in this thread.

Can get into windows at 3.1Ghz but not 3.2Ghz, so a lot of tweaking to do to see how stable I can get at 3.1Ghz now.

Can't wait for my 146 to get here to see if it's any better now! :D

Nick

Nem if they both hit 3 Ghz can I have the worst one, preferably the 146? :D

EDIT - tatts i'm at 2.8ghz now and priming so i'll try and lower the voltage a tad if it proves stable. :)

i need more V to get past 9x300, now @ 9x310 1.6V (1.450 + 110%) :D

Heh I thought you'd need a bit more juice. Hopefully when this proves stable at 9*311 i'll be able to back down to 1.65 or so. Which may then leave me enough room to shoot for 2850 or 2900 with 1.7v. Probably a bit optimistic though... lol. 2.9ghz stable on a cabbage would be quite extraordinary with my cooling methinks. :D

mine has now got a mind of its own now.

9x300 is 1.57V & 35c full load
9x305 is 1.6V & full load 38c
9x310 is 1.65V idling 49c and not stable in windows wtf!!

9x200 stock V load 28c
9x280 stock V load 30c
9x295 1.54V load 33c
9x300 is 1.57V load 35c
9x305 is 1.6V load 38c
9x310 is 1.65V idling 49c (unstable)

notice the jump ounce it gets to 295, the V goes up every 5mhz to stay in windows
& thats with 7 case fans (4 front, 2 back & 1 on side) & artic freezer64

I just stopped PRIME as it was making browsing VERY painful. But although im going to let it run for at least 8-12 hours when I get chance, 3 hours with no errors or warnings is looking good for 2.8ghz with ~1.7v. My heatsink is cool to the touch even straight after the 3 hours heavy load... these 120mm fans work sonders... my RAM is cool too.

And I know it's all due to the fan and the heatsink is seated correctly because the other day my fan stopped when a wire came loose and after 1 minute my heatsink was too hot to touch and my RAM heatspreaders were almost as bad. Great heatsink! :D
