Ok... got mine going at 3GHz (1.4v) now, bit strange though, seems to randomly hang but I know it's not the CPU. I have a feeling my Mobo is beginning to give up on me, does any one have any helpful hints on how to give the chipset more volts (MSI K8N Neo2)?

I have left it priming now all night at 2950MHz until I can figure it out.

I want screen caps :D
good to see the nf3 based boards can still haul!

I'll get some done as soon as I have it up running in a case and, with some memory running in dual channel etc. I really need to learn how to use this board to it's maximum 'cause at the moment I am not happy being stuck at 295FSB.

is there a guide for the dfi nf4 boards, i can safely say i spent about 6hrs of the day changing settings, convincing myself i need new memory, then decide i should keep the ballistix, and now im 6hrs later im back to 3Ghz.

stuff like LDT voltage what is that???

ive figured changing the chipset voltage to 1.6 helps with stability i think. lol

Just uploaded the one from the DFI Forums for you (it was a RAR over there):

very true, c'mon ppl, get it to 3.1Ghz or higher, 3Ghz is common now :D

last ive heard your still below the belt ;)

worse thing is, the 144 is arriving tomorrow, i dont think i'll try that till i get some feedback.

mind you ive more or less got a 144 packed in 146 shim
i should be expecting more or less the same thing, me thinks :p

I foudnd that my CABNE scaled poorly on air.

Could do 3Ghz no problem at 1.475v, however it would only do 3.05Ghz on 1.65v. Could not get 3.1Ghz on air at all.

not done much testing yet but around there for 3ghz, just tried upto 1.7V put no joy.

IHS=Integrated heat spreader, the metal square covering the die, removing it can really help temps if the contact is bad.

Yeah just the normal cooler that was in the box, I have a Zalman 7700CU sitting here, hope I can find the mounting kit for a 939 board 'cause it was on a 478 system last time I used it. The thing is, the CPU's is not getting hot so I don't see the cooler holding me back.

so far 3.1 ,not prime stable, fails prime in 1 sec, 3.2 gets to windows screen and stops ,adding more volts dont help,

so no hopes for 3.1Ghz then? meh...to me theres no diff if you can get to 3Ghz with stock voltage or 1.7v if it can't break that wall

update: here come the new hope :D is that on air m8?

I have played around with my CABYE 148 for a few weeks now, and the above seems spot on.

Mine is 24hr prime stable @ 2.85Ghz on 1.5v but to get to 2.90Ghz it needs 1.65v to be OCCT / Prime Stable this is cooled by a ThermalRight XP-90C / Quite Fan.

3.0 GHz boots & completes Super PI but is not prime stable.

Never used OCCT before this CPU but it’s a mint program for a fast 30 min check which will find the smallest of instabilities.
