Been bullied into buying a PC Power & Cooling 510 PSU. Damn you nightic... but at least I can't blame a shoddy OC on my PSU then. :D

Sigh, I ended up with a Hiper Type-R 580, now I need to decide on a case for that and my DFI LanParty SLi-D, any suggestions (not Akasa Eclipse too wide for computer desk). Need to order it in the next 2 hours so its here on Monday...

just for a laff I just super PI'd my work machine and it took 1min and 20secs to do 1million!!! shocking.

Bah, my work laptop (main machine) does it in over 2 minutes!

Blagged a new one though, so will see what that can do...

EDIT - LOL sounds like I blagged a new one because of the SuperPi time the way I've explained it!

Me: 'Hi, my laptop takes over 2 minutes to calculate Pi to 1 million d.p"
IT Dept "Oh, we can't have that - we'll get you a new one. That should see you to below a minute"

:D

What's your budget? Add me on MSN if you have time now I have a few ideas for you. :)

Been tinkering about with my Opteron 146 today, got a water cooling kit on the way, but that wont arrive till monday so i decided to have a mess around with overclocking (using stock HSF). Currently running at 2.58Ghz 1.4v prime95 stable.

Still learning about A64 overclocking and all the timing stuff, its a lot more complex than good old Athlon TB/XP's :P

How about the Lian-Li v1000 cases very nice, but there around £120 though.

Nice clocks Jokester.

I take it there's no cold bug on yours then?

Have you tried any more volts on it yet? I found that whilst mine scaled badly on air with more volts it scaled much better under phase.

No cold bug with this one, not convinced that more voltage will make anymore difference, 90nm chips seem to top out at about 1.65-1.7V.

Richdog showed me a few cases as well, not sure about the v1000. Anybody got opinions on the Gigabyte 3d Aurora?

So you in Paignton MadMossy? I used live at the top of the Kings Ash Road in Paignton :D

Except you can do a 'trick' jumper setting where using an additional normal jumper and ONLY having that in the 4v position (moving the big jumper block down one pin) unlocks upto 4v in the BIOS, but continues to run from the 3.3v rail.

Of course, you need to adjust your 3.3v rail to ACTUALLY get what you set in the BIOS. It will usually give a max of 3.3v rail - 0.1.

e.g. I have 3.6v on my 3.3v rail, allowing 3.5v max.

But otherwise, you're right. I wouldn't want to use the 'normal' 4v jumper setting.

Hi by any chance anyone got a link or a graphically illustration on how this is done, i currently have my psu giving my 3.3, 3.4volts, but i am only able to use 3.2 though my 512 BH5, they are both running at 252 at 2,2,2,10 memtest prefect but would like to try and get them higer if possible...

Hey, if your PSU is only giving 3.3 volts, you'll only be able to give it 3.2 anyway.

Can you mod your PSU rails to give upto 3.6? If not, this jumper mod won't work

I've got the Aurora, and its a quality case. Good airflow, Good build quility, and nicely set out inside.

So is it worth just throwing my 146 (cabye 0540fpbw) straight in at at 300 htt? Is there any one with this chip not abl to hit 3 gig?
