Have you dropped the HT multiplier?

i got my chip today. a 148 CABYE 0450 :D very pleased with it. I also got my giel ultra-x pc4400.

but im having trouble getting to 3.0ghz, currently stuck at 2.9. My ram is running at 2-2-2-5 1t and my proc is at 265x11. Im running at 5v and my vdimm at 2.7v. Im really not sure what else i can do? Not completely sure what the ht multi is? anyone help

cheers

Right, got my 146 CABYE 0540 to 2800mhz at last. Worked out what I was doing wrong, set what must be the HTT multi to 3x, but it's called (it seems) LDT on my AV8! Anyway, that's as far as I dare go till I sort out my heatsink, seems to idle at about 48oC ish, but the temperature reading does seem somewhat erratic as it started off at 38oC when I first put in it there!
Seems SuperPI stable so far, does it in 36 secs, with a load of programs running in the background. That's on standard volts (well, it's set to auto in the bios anyway, so it' could go up I suppose).
Is that ok for a VIA based motherboard, I see the majority of overclocks on here with the Opty 146's are on Nforce4's?
Cheers :D

EDIT: Just closed down all the programs running in the background and got superpi down to 34 secs! :)

I think thats fairly good on the AV8 m8.

I think Windows could do with re-installing, it hasn't been done for a few years! I'm pretty sure there's a few things running that I couldn't close down. SuperPi's never been that quick for me though, even on my old Winny 3500+ which I had running at 2500mhz, it only did it in about 39/40 secs.
I am running the memory on a divider, could that slow it down that much?

can anyone give me a quick explaination of what HTT, u know the x4, x3, x2 setting. I think this may be why im only getting my 148 CABYE stable at 2.9ghz

cheers

My CAB2E is sitting at 2.340ghz at the mo, and I get a 1m Super Pi of 36 sec, so I'd think that 34 is a bit slow really....Try the 32m test that should show whether it's pulling its weight well or not.

Rain Man, you have to keep the HTT below 1000mhz, i.e. 250x4=1000 300x3=900. It doesn't seem to matter if it's a fair bit below 1000mhz, Mine's only set to 3x260=780 and it seems fine to me!!!

Ok, i'll try that. Just thought, my memory is running pretty slack timings, could that make a big difference as well as the divider?

arghgghg i cant boot into windows at 3.0ghz! im in now at 2950mhz but super pi wont even do one itteration!

Ive got my ram at 2.5-2-2-5 @ 211mhz, my cpu at 269x11 @ 1.6v, my chipset @ 1.6v, my ram @ 2.7v and my HTT at x3

I really cant see the problem! anyone pleeasee
