The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

Yep, already using HTT multiplier of 3. I've basically set pretty much everything I can think of. I've tried setting my memory timings manually, setting it to 2t and with my mems default timings of 3-3-3-8, but still unable to go over 2.5ghz :/

Hmm... what BIOS version are you using? Played with chipset and HTT volts? 1T, TRC and other memory timings? What PSU are you using? What are temps like? Tried with just 1 DIMM or different RAM?

I'd like to try and help you nail this if poss, cos I have the same board!

Hi guys back again,been trying all afternoon and still getting nowhere. One thing I did notice is when I set the bios back to defaults and loaded the 10% AI overclock the system booted. This showed up correctly in CPUZ unlike before, after going back into the bios to disable onboard sound and etc the system then refused to boot at this setting. For some reason enabling the floppy drive (even tho' I don't have one ) allowed it to boot once again.

If I try to manually set cpu with the settings I had (the AI 10% overclock) the system refuses to boot.

I bought the Asus A8NE boards because I thought they where solid and would overclock no problem, but am now (after 4 days of trying) very close to giving up!

I really would appreciate any further help

Thanks

This is as high as mine will go on air. Tried different multis, dividers and voltages. Will be running 24/7 @ 2800. Would have like 3ghz 24/7, but more than satisfied with thei £110 processor ! Will hit 3ghz stable one day, the memory controller seems a bit fussy !

what psu have u got? 16V on the 12V :eek:

LOL, It's always said that no matter what PSU I use !!! Must be a dodgy sensors on the Mobo (its a DFI SLI-D). All the other sensors report correctly though.

I have one of these Hiper 580's, with 2 x 12v rails, one has 18A, the other 17A

cab2e = 0963 - wont budge past 9x305 even with 1.7V
cabye = 0564 - 10x300 on 1.45V :D

Looks like I got lucky with my CAB2E at 3Ghz maybe, its settled in nicely with 1.65V.
