Looks like I got lucky with my CAB2E at 3Ghz maybe, its settled in nicely with 1.65V.

is that stable or just for benching? my CAB2E hits 3G as well but just SP1M stable :|

nikebee : yes, its 3x120mm :D

hi m8, just change my heatsink today, my batch no. = 0435

here is the news guy, i just found the new daddy of quiet air cooling : TT Sonic Tower :D
using the same fan on the Big Typhoon, Sonic Tower is 5C lower

the next level is this :

lol

I have this setup atm, well not quite that, but close..
I have the sonic tower and a couple of reasonable thermaltake fans each side plus one slightly rubbish one in the middle.
Im in fact waiting on a delta 190 cfm to strap on, then I should see (and hear) some wonderous things..

My temps btw arent super good I dont think, (not sure what good temps are for air) - I have my opteron 144 cab2e at 2850 ish, voltage 1.585 temperature full load p95 running is 37, dont know what my ambient temps are here.

bob

p.s. yes, its huge, 17cm wide in fact.

that sonic tower certainly does the job...

it's still bloody huge though lol :p

i'd be worried about sticking Delta fans to that... it might take off! :p

using fans like that is overkill, the plastic probably hinders air flow, everyone knows fans work best side my side, unless the air flow slows down too much, u certainly dont need tat middle fan

U need a fan shroud to elimiate the dead spot. The center of the fan has a dead spot cause it is where the motor is. Stand it back a little and u will get less noise too.

If that picture is not photoshopped thats got to be a football sized fan, which is just silly.

I got one from a ASrock939DualsataII Board
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=47432

Thats was a chip i got from Nightic about two weeks ago
Can't remember stepping on it
but runing max voltage at 1.53V and ram at 2.73V

So if i had a dif board this whould go over the magic 3Ghz i think !!

Pizzaboy, I'm thinking of getting this moptherboard, just wondered which bios you are using?

Currently running my 146 at 290x10 at 1.5v, got the memory on a divider at stock, load temps are 37degrees! But i'm using a 20MM 45dbA YS-Tech fan, so once its on my fan bus i hope to queiten it down to arround 50degrees load.

Edit: the 46 seems to be maxing ou at around 3.1 - 3.2 Ghz on air for me, changing the voltages doesnt make all that much difference as i can 1M SuperPi at 1.5v at 3.1Ghz.

...

Patience young nimrod, shall be heading your way on Monday :p

Ought to have me a couple of 1GB kits of that nice new GSkill FX stuff to play with by then too...

Ive got no patience :D

You can let me know how you get on with those G.Skill kits ;)

Unless Rich has some earmarked :p

Earmarked im afraid on the chance he sells a pair. ;)

I've already had a CPU and soon a PSU off of him... be rude not to take the RAM as well. :D

Oh and btw, now I have my RAM working in DC and 1T the performance increase at 3ghz has been amazing... I am seeing VERY significant performance increases in games as well as benchmarks. LOVING it... my aim now is to have 10*300 at 1:1. :)

that would depend on the case, my silverstone case is only 485mm deep, so if like I think you have u have the fan on your tower facing the front of the case, this would be very close to the 3.5 bays for me.

the issue with the Big T is its about 1-2 inches away from the side panel, tell me Ken did you have a vent on the side of your case?

Its what im thinking of doing for my Big T

Just an update from yesterday. I couldn't ,and still can't ,manually overclock the Asus A8NE board but the problem is solved using Clockgen.

146 Opty straight to 2.7 on stock volts and verified using a couple of different progams ,along side unlocked GTO2 the results are superb!

Today one happy bunny ,hopefully this might help someone with a similar problem.

nah, my Sonic Tower blow upward (to the PSU) due to the way it mounted and no, I dont have vent in the side panel, doesnt make much diff me think :p
