The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

I'm struggling with anything over 3.1Ghz really. Currently 32M SuperPi stable at 3.1Ghz and 1.57v, i've just took the voltage down a bit and started another 32M SuperPi test. I could probably do 311-315 but the extra volts it needs isnt worth it.

Load temps are about 38-39 degrees, but i am using a 125CFM YS-Tech. I'm hoping for load temps around 50 when i put the fan on the fanbus, anyone agree with that?

I hope to test my 144 CAB2E later this evening as i'll be going out soon.

Hi all......new to the forum and would like some advice off all you nice people :)

I have just ordered 2 Opteron 144 CPU's for my 2 systems and would like to know the best possible way to overclock them in each of the PC's I have.

System 1:
Epox 9NDA3+ mobo(SKT939)
ATI X800XT AGP Gfx
1024MB(2*512MB Matched) Corsair XMS C2PT Ram
Magna 600W PSU(Think this could be the weak link)
Thermaltake LanFire Case(5 fans-80,90&120mm)
Zalman CNPS7000 AlCu CPU Flower Cooler

System 2:
Epox 9NPA+ Ultra mobo(SKT939)
ATI X800XL PCie Gfx
1024MB(2*512MB Matched) Corsair XMS C2PT Ram
Tagan TG480-U01 480W PSU
Thermaltake Shark Case(2 fans -120mm)
Zalman CNPS7000 AlCu CPU Flower Cooler

Hoe you guys and gals can give me some good advice on what I can do with these 2 setups.

Thanks in advance

anyone know ocuk's policy on returning products for no apperant reason? lol. I want to send back my 148 and take my chances with the next batch of 146's. I cant get the damn thing stable at 2.9 with lose timings at 1.60v.

If it's under 7 days then you can return the item under the distance selling rules. AFAIK

If it's under 7 days old, then you could under the distance selling act. However, you will probably have to pay for return delivery, and will most definately have to pay a restocking fee. Saying this, I'm not sure if they will take back something that isn't faulty beyond the 7 day "cooling off" period.

Hi guys,

Had a few days with my 146 0540 FPBW :) Using a DFI Ultra-D which has taken a bit of getting to grips with lol

Max I seem to be able to get from it is 2950Mhz @ 1.5v Just doesnt wanna know about 3Ghz lol Its an amazing chip none the less. Does 2.8Ghz on stock voltage! FX-57 for £111 Thanks for the XMAS present AMD :)

Currently running 290x10 1.5v at 1:1 With 2x512 Geil 3200 UltraX 3-4-4-8 @ 2.9v Still playing with memory timings 1:1 etc for best perfomance. Im sure it will do 295x10 1:1 just going to try that next reboot.

Cheers,
Hugest

Suman,

Tried it with 1.65v  last night but reboots on entering windows 1.65v was as brave as I was feeling. Whats the concensus on max volts on the opty?

Cheers,
Hugest

I personally wouldn't go above 1.55V on air (although would feel much comfier running under 1.5), or above 1.65V on water. But I guess it's down to what your temps are, and whether or not you have "bolas del acero" ;):p

just wondering what people are getting out of 146 CABGE's or CAB2E's? Cos i think ill bay my 148 and buy a 146 form ocuk next time theyre in stock.

Atm im getting 2.85Ghz @ 1.6v and that still isnt massively stable, keeps jumping out of battlefield. So if a cabge can do atleast 2.8 stable ive made a bit of money
