The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

Could do with a little help if I may. I seem to have hit a brick wall with my Opty.

Currently at:
1.5VCore (it changes from 1.5 to 1.519)
HTT: 280x10
RAM is: on a 133 Divider, 1T 2.5-3-3-6

Anything above 280 and SP2004 fails after the first minute (or less). Slackening the RAM doesn't help, so I assume the chip just needs more volts? I had it up to 1.55 but AFAIK that didn't help either.

I'm using the stock cooler but I've replaced the fan with something a little beefier. Load temp is 55 running Prime.

Any thoughts? I mean I'm totally happy with 2.8GHz :p just would be nice to break the magical 3GHz barrier.

My chip certainly doesnt like my RAM :(

3D mark 03 rebooted while playing with RAM settings.

258Mhz (166Mhz divider), 3-4-4-8 1T.

It did a lot better than that on my Winchester :(.

Have to use the 133Mhz divider to give 203Mhx 2-2-2-5

just ordered my 146 today can't wait ,but it has been a while since i tried overclocking gonna use clockgen to test ,but what programes you guys using to set values permanently ?

Haha! Copycat! :D Set it permenantly in the Bios Mark.

Doosht

for people who was asking me why i had low temps, i did a test yesterday & this morning before installing my WC set up :D
opty 146 at 2.8ghz stock V arctic freezer64 ..
geil copper paste = idle 35C - load 41C
AS5 = idle 37C - load 44C

even my 7800gt lost 2C using geil instead of AS5 so no more AS5 for me ;)

probably the CPU to be fair - 2800 is nice :) I had a 144 CAB2E and it's at 2400, no higher for me am afraid, slight waste of money replacing my 2.2 Newcastle but thats how it goes - I've never had a good clocking CPU, even my AXIA T'bred was a load of rubbish :(

Alrighty. Yeah, I probably need to tweak the memory a little more as well, but 2.8 is an FX57, right? :D

My 1700 T'Bred DUT3C hit 2GHz with no probs on 1.65v btw :D

how's this for fast :)
