The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

140 divider I think you can stretch to, and ALWAYS run the max Vdimm you can, preferably 3.1-3.2Vdimm. I can't stress enough that it is perfectly safe for quality RAM like corsair... 2.6v is FAR too low for any good overclocking with stability.

And Darth... if you're running sucha low Vcore surely you know that you need to raise it to get more mhz, especially on a CABGE? :)

WOO HOO!

Just sold my very hyped up CABGE on a well known auction site for £125 so can buy a 146 and not lose anything, hooray! :D

If anyone wants to sell their CABGE do it NOW before people find out about cheap deals like at OCUK. :)

I don't call swapping tor a 146 for free messing about for nothing. And I really think it'll be a CABYE. if not i'll get a friend to get one from the USA. :)

tatts why do you keep asking silly questions lol, if you read the previous posts it is clear no-one knows what stepping they are getting, it's been asked 100 times. :p

lol i'm only changing to a decent CPU, when I find it i'll stay put. A CABGE jus isn't satisfying enough for me, I want a real upgrade over my Skt 754.

My friend is getting some dirt cheap Gskill TCCD from the USA for £100 too which are capable of 300HTT+ at 1:1 so I may sell my OCZ for the same price seeing as it won't work in dual-channel on my DFI. :)

It's the command rate, also known as CPC. 1T is faster but more taxing on the memory modules and controller. 2T is slower but less stressful and usually allows memory to clock further, or be used in larger quantities. :)

I think people are to scared of volts my rigs are always flat out, my 2500XP is 2.0v on air from a 1.45v stock, runs all day long without any hassle whatsoever.

lol... I personally know several people including myself that have killed CPU's through too much voltage. It is naieve to say the least to think that pushing extreme voltage (beyond the regular boundaries) into a CPU using regular air-cooling is safe.

Many CPU's die as a result, and it is always best to set a limit to the voltage you stick into one.

All of them I believe, you just have to set the jumper to allow over 3.2vdimm.

Which is really not a good idea on any motherboard before the DFI SLI-Expert (newest one out). The 4v jumper has by DFI's admissión killed a fair bit of RAM...

Geil 2GB RAM: Yes.

Heatsink: Personally I like the Thermalright SI-120 w. 120mm Panaflo or vantec stealth fan. Weighs half what most other heatsinks do, cools just as well very quietly, and is compatible with every motherboard going. :)

Not looking great for the CAB2E at initial glance... booted at 2.8ghz at 1.45v and got a reboot. Upped it to 1.5v and Super PI 1MB fails instantly. It could be a number of things need tweaking though so don't despair...

I'll increase the voltage and see where I get stable at... man this hangover is killing me though, my head is splitting. Not a good time for concentrating.
