The Pascal Titan X and XP Owners Thread

You can build silent PCs... fanless... look at Streacom.

Intel iGPU is all you need for 4k video playback.

But this is the Titan X thread... so I assume he's talking about sticking a TX in an HTPC for some unknown reason.

It depends on what noise you find tolerable.

This generation's cooler is a lot better on the noise front that last years.

At idle or when watching a movie, it's very quiet.

Under decent load the fan is relatively quiet up to 60-70% speed... it's only really when you crank it higher than that it gets really noisy.

Although I prefer much quieter... so water for me.

Just testing out the waterblocks using safe overclocks.

4 Pascal Titans @2063/2728
6950X @4.4
372.54 Drivers

Just ran these off one after another with no crashes.

I was a bit CPU bottlenecked on some of these.

Holy cow! That is mega, I don't think most of the forum will have anything like that until at least 2020! I wonder how bottlenecked they are in GTA V benchmark? I'd like to watercool but leaks worry me + expense.

Not a massive run, that was after 30 minutes but the fans are only running at 25%.

Thats what you get from a 420, 360, 240 and 280 rads, some with double fans :)

Also spent a fortune on the really good thermal pads for the vrms and memory chips.

Atm the moment the cpu is running at 4Ghz and stock volts so not adding much to the heat. I'll be overclocking it back to 4.5/4.6 tonight.

Mine's idling at 23C today :)

After a while of heavy load, I have seen them up to 40-42C on my quiet fan profile. Lower if I spin the fans and pump up though.

Top card makes 2150 on the core - awesome chip - but in SLI they are limited to about 2050.

Yeah I noticed last night when I got my loop finally up and running (after fixing three leaks!) that my titan was idling at 21C and my cpu at 25C.

so decided to make a quick profile to run at pump speed no 1.5 ish and fans at 280 rpm for browsing. Temps of cpu and gpus will rise a bit but its damn quiet. Noisest thing now is my 4 drives in raid.

All good :)

Only disappointment (slight) was that I dont have the best Titan in the lottery. 2150 crashed on benching, and nothing to do with heat as it was still below 30C when it crashed.

I haven't reached my TDP limit either, hitting about 95% even at 2150.

SO my max claock is going to be somewhere between 2.1 and 2.5 but at least it will stay there all day long :)

My new build my have taken me 3 months and was the biggest pain in the *** I have ever done but you can't fault 29C max temp on the Titan on a run on Firestike :D

Shame my card isnt the best of overclockers. I can run furmark at 2150 for half an hour but anything more than 2100 and 3dmark crashes before even starting :(

Thats incredible... Looking forward to getting my 1080 FTW blocks soon so I can join this elusive cold club! Still kinda 'want' to flip to Titans but I also want to give those a go underwater first. Can you tell me what 'really good thermal pads for the vrms and memory chips.' are?

My new build hasn't got quite so much rad but its going to have quite a bit!

P.S. BUILD LOG :P
