The Police Application Thread

I can't see why being a MMA fighter would hinder you in anyway. A close friend of mine is a boxer and hes never had any trouble whilst at work?

One is image I dare say. Would it look good on the force if an MMA fighter is in a cage knocking seven bells out of his oppo when he is also a police officer ?

The same can be said for boxing as well.

Also, the force spend a lot of money training an offcer. I have heard around the 200k mark from start to end of probationary period although I will stand corrected if shown otherwise. They want a return on that investment and competitive fighting can injure someone and cause time off work etc.

Good Point, i just didn't take into account the fact you may well be scrutinized for choosing to take part in a certain sport. As you said Von, hes probably best to contact his local force first?

I contacted the service I applied to. They said they were more than happy to transfer my application to another county.

So I rang up another county and asked them and they said categorically no.

Problem is that they havent actually rejected my application and you are not allowed to reapply if you have a concurrent application :/

An odd dilemna.

That needs clarifying ASAP.

Can the forces in question not communicate with each other via recruitment departments to sort it out. It seems very unfair for you to be left in limbo for something not of your making.

I passed Paper Sift, then passed PIRT at Cleveland. This was months ago though and I'm yet to get an interview date, bit annoyed really I've not heard anything. The Intake is November though so perhaps I'll hear something soon.

Hi was this for the Police Or a PCSO? I applied for a PSCO role in Nov 07, finally got an assessment centre date at Cleveland Police near Marton Road in Nov 08 which I passed. I've now been waiting as they took no one on due to lack of Local Authority funding, anyone else in the same boat? Does anyone know the current Salary for a starting PCSO? I'm a bit fed up of waiting to be honest, I'm also on the waiting list for the HMPS and have been since May 08, I was also promised a start date for the DWP in July this year and guess what? Still no info and they "don't know" when I'm going to start.

This was for the Police Specials, I'm annoyed at the lack of updates, I attended the PIRT and passed and they've completely left me in the dark as to whats going to happen now, literally heard nothing. I can understand your frustration Spike.

When did you apply mate? It's nearly two years ago for me now, the frustration is pretty high for me. To be fair they have been apologetic and have sent me letters now and again but if I've been waiting this long I feel sorry for new applicants!

I would mate, I rang them about a month or so ago and got some info, it's worth doing. :) let me know how you get on!

Well, I recieved a letter today postmarked "Cleveland Police", I have finally got an interview date which will be taking place on the 24th September. :)

Had my interview, went much better than last time, but unlike last time they wouldn't tell me the result :(

So now I have to wait a week to find out :(
