The Predator (2018)

I think had Predators been made earlier and had Arnie and a one-armed Carl Weathers reprise their roles rather than Brody and Fishbourne, it would have been close to Aliens level of sequel greatness.

Weathers also got stabbed through the chest and lifted into the air with the predators claw so doubting he would have survived :p

New trailer.
The first trailer had me genuinely interested, I was talking to some friends about how it caught my attention as I thought it had potential with a "suburbia twist" thing going on.
But that trailer right there... I let out a huge sigh.

It's basically Jurassic World, i.e. normal dinosaurs aren't good enough so we'll show a bigger, more muscle packed, super powered dinosaur and mix it together with a crap script, one dimensional characters and stupid jokes.

Pass.

Technically the bigger predator already happened in predators with the 2 factions, the one being tied up being the "classic" version seen in the original and the ones doing the hunting larger in size.

Yeah, but this one is even bigger than those three. Which obviously means this'll be better.
They should do a sequel where it's basically an 18 cert version of Space Jam, but with juiced up DNA junky Predators instead of the toons.

It may not be, its hard to tell from one image comparing one standing to one laying down. Even one of regular size would look tall in that specific situation. Just have to wait and see what the movie brings.

Wow, they're managing to make this look worse and worse with each new trailer.

EDIT: ...and that's coming from someone who actually enjoyed Predators.

It doesn't even feel like a film. It feels like some cheesy spin off tv series?

Noticed in the latest trailer, the stuff with the super-roid-hench-pred seems to be outside a high school...yay, kids in danger...do one Shane Black, please just go away.

Same, I quite enjoyed it! Took it in a new direction which was welcome, and big nose was quite a badass :)

Yeah, me too. I thought it felt a lot like some of the comics, ie, a story in the Predator universe without it having to be related to the first two movies. Instead of exploring more of the Predators on their own ground, or going to a future sci-fi setting, they've gone back to the old "running around a US high school" thing that works so well.

Dark Horse did so many good Predator comics, yet no one can make a decent movie for the last twenty years.

Predators was fine, but I don't associate it with the original films. I am genuinely surprised however by the love for Predator 2, even more so people saying it was as good as the first film. It was ooook but it's really not a patch on Predator. The soundtrack, the ambiance, the visuals (Predator 2 was very dark) and watching Arnie (in his prime) and a team of spec ops (rescue team?) go up against a Predator (rather than just local PD) was to me, far more compelling viewing.

Predator vs Danny Glover and Gary Busey? Please  :D (I'm ignoring Bill Paxton here)

Predator 2 felt like a cheesy spin off from Robocop 2.
