The Predator (2018)

There are so many good comic book Avp and Predator stories you would think they would raid those stories and make a good film out of them. The first one I remember reading was about the one where the Predators put Alien eggs in big space cows that just happened to be owned by a bunch of settlers who had settled on a Predator hunt ground planet. Cant remember its name was years ago. Thats a great film in the making right there !

That's the first AVP comic, based on the planet Ryushi, while elements of it have been used in the tragic AVP movies, we need a direct adaption. The heroine in the first movie is heavily based on Machiko but doesn't even come close to the bad assery in the comics.

Thats the one that got my brother and I into reading them all including the comic novella's etc. Years ago. Pity they didnt continue on that track more directly after AvP1

they did a cracking little coda to that story showing Machiko and her adopted family going into a hive to capture a new queen. great fun, and about the last Predator thing i believe Chris Warner drew :-(

AVP: War I think it was. There are two spin offs with machiko, eventually going against the predators after spending so long winning their respect and hunting alongside them.

Yeap, in "Hunt" the Predators seed Alien eggs onto a planet they didn't realise was being used by humans to hunt rare species on. So the Predators have both armed humans and Aliens to deal with and start killing everything which forces Machiko to choose a side.

Yeah, but this one is even bigger than those three. Which obviously means this'll be better.
They should do a sequel where it's basically an 18 cert version of Space Jam, but with juiced up DNA junky Predators instead of the toons.

The large aliens are a hybrid race, apparently they are genetically engineered cross breeds

(possible to be humans)

IIRC of what plot points were leaked.

part of the problem with all these trailers is that the lead guy looks super generic and charisma-free. I have no idea who he is but he shouldn't be leading an action film.

The "Final" trailer (Red Band so gore and swearing), with a better look at the "new" 10ft+ Predator at the end as it holds 6ft 1in Boyd Holbrook up by the throat, just like the original 7ft one did to Arnie.

The action looks pretty chaotic, firing wrist blades that explode someone. Probably be worth a watch.

Either they've edited the movie, taken out the kids, and made it more adult, or they are fooling us with the trailer and it's still being aimed at the lunchbox and merch markets.
