Can't blame Brechin for being a wee bit mercenary. If you are pretty much guaranteed a full house, you might as well charge a premium. Supply n demand and all that. Wonder if the rest of the 3rd will do that too?

Looks like Rangers newco are accepting all the punishments from the SFA as part of the deal for a transfer of membership according to SFA site. :eek:

Embargo will begin on 1st September so I take it they can sign anyone they like until then?

Well yeah, but forcing the newco to take on the punishment of the sins of the old club is perverse, unless the SFA know something we don't about who the backers of the newco actually are.

What do the SPL have to do with Rangers' media rights now that they are in the third division, or is this just another attempt at messing about with the TV deal(s)?

Because they are short of cash. They should have no say but this is the sfa and spl. Nothing this shower of corrupt bodies does surprises me these days.

True, latest is Rangers want the SPL to drop the EBT investigation as part of any membership deal so could get even worse with the season starting next Sunday. SPL blocking payment of £2m owed to the SFL until TV deal is signed, which I thought they couldn't get out of since it's a guaranteed fee as part of the breakaway or at least a percentage of total revenue? :confused:

See my post above. IMO this will be the last season of the spl. Perhaps Longmuir should sue the spl?

Rangers need to be in the SFL for a minimum of two seasons before they can resign to join another league, as condition of SFL membership. No agreement signed yet so needs to get sorted before the cup game can take place.

After reading Ally McCoist's statement regarding the sanctions and possible stripping of titles I do have to wonder if he actually understands what is happening or is making himself a nice little excuse to leave.
