You have the SFA who punish rangers up to the maximum financial penalities allowed in their rule books then take it a step further by imposing a transfer embargo. This hasn't been sorted out however pressure must be now put on the SFA to rescind this since it's paramount to the saviour of Rangers.

This is a common misconception peddled by the likes of Sandy Jardine. The panel could have expelled Rangers from the league, that was the highest punishment they could give out, they got off pretty lightly all things considered.

They only get all their money is creditors agree I think. Not quite sure how it works but I'm sure when there was a live blog from another admin firm regarding this and said their fee's would have to be justified and agreed by creditors. Or something like that.

They still all get their money, its why not every company goes into administration, administrators only take on the job if there is money for them to get paid.

The clubs are mindful of a sporting integrity aspect but the commercial benefits may outweigh that

So basically, screw the rules, just give us the cash. Aye the other clubs just want to keep the snouts in the trough.

But I have a legal responsibility to run Dundee United and a legal responsibility as a director of the SPL

The SPL board is compromised. Conflicts of interests anyone? The disturbing thing is, he only sees it as a problem because their fans might walk, not even an integrity issue!

Morally Rangers go to the 3rd Div.
Financially, Rangers will stay in the SPL. Our often joked about league will be laughed at for evermore when that happens.

I think those making the decision want to punish Rangers to the fullest but cant as it would put their own teams in trouble.

So definitely conflict of interest there.

There really should be no question at all what happens, it should be the same as Airdrie, your out, your out and have to apply for membership along with other clubs who want in.

Either way this is probably going to kill Scottish football.

Title 55 next season i think. :)
Celtic fans to boycott away grounds of teams that vote to keep the new-co in the spl? they just want the title on a plate every season with us in the 3rd di
vision. :p
We are going to boycott away games, there going to boycott away games, there just obsessed with Rangers :D

There is zero chance Rangers will win the league next season.

You might be surprised to hear this, but I suspect Celtic fans like fans of other clubs just want to see Rangers punished adequately.

They won't be. I think we'll likely see a split vote today on the newco being allowed into the SPL so the SFA will announce their new league proposals. The newco will be invited in as it means the clubs will be absolved of responsibility and in a couple of years boycotts will go back to normal.

To be honest, if the best we got was a reformed 14 or 16 team league, then Id be relatively happy about that, we should have a 16 team league at least, ideally 20 which could see young players thrive in that environment.

Statement from the meeting:

However, an SPL spokesperson said the 11 member clubs present at Monday's meeting "unanimously called for the power to deal with any newco application to be moved from the board to the clubs".

"This requires 21 clear days' notice," added the spokesperson. "The clubs will therefore meet again on 30 May to consider a resolution designed to achieve this.

"In the event that an application for transfer of share to a newco is received before 30 May, then it can be dealt with by the SPL board.

So not just a bunch of cowardly chairmen on the SPL board worried about getting the blame for killing off SPL Rangers? Doncaster apparently saying that Rangers administrators asked for the delay. :o

Probably not, im surprised you would want to see your club let off with financial cheating though, I suppose though as glory hunters, winning at any cost is the main thing though.
Of course i would rather my Club get let off, this wasn't mine, or any other fan's fault.
Does every club not have a percentage of there fans as "Glory hunters" You cannot tar us all by this brush.
