Massive improvement - definitely need to work on that smile though!

I have no horse in this race, but if you are flogging a car some decent proffesional photos of it, washed and polished, in an eye catching pleasing setting look better than something out of focus with it wet and dirty, taken outside the scabby local takeaway.

I am sure the same applies if you're flogging yourself to some bints sex shopping on a dating site.

In fact the similarities to flogging an aging motor are many, lie about your past history, number of former keepers, and clock your mileage, do some cosmetic hiding of the worst body issues and exaggerate your "performance".

Professional photos on a dating site would make me think 2 things:

a) Probably a bot/scam/bait profile.
b) What is she trying to hide.

Yeah it looks like she suffers from anorexia to me too. :(
Her wiki. Poor woman:
Elizabeth Anne Velásquez ; born March 13, 1989) is an American motivational speaker, activist, author, and youtuber. She was born with an extremely rare congenital diseasecalled Marfanoid–progeroid–lipodystrophy syndrome that, among other symptoms, prevents her from accumulating body fat and gaining weight. Her conditions resulted in bullying during her childhood. During her teenage years, she faced cyberbullying, which ultimately inspired her to take up motivational speaking.

That sounds like a horrible thing to have and I can well imagine she suffered awful bullying.

Kids can be so cruel.

What an amazing lady to do what she does though.

People have become too picky with the age of the internet and dating apps, insta etc. Expectations are too high.
I've been 'off the table' since before it really took off (over 17yrs now, crikey) but I imagine that is the case. Women can set themselves high standards because they know they will get lots of men contacting them online even if they are very 'average' looking, plus of course ensuring they use flattering pics etc.

Like say a '4/10' female will be able to filter her pics, show a bit of cleavage or whatever and attract contact from males considered 8/10 in the looks department. Now it might be that a lot of those men aren't actually looking for a serious relationship with a 4 but the women will naturally get her hopes up and feel flattered by the attention (who wouldn't?). She'll be like OK, I don't need to settle for anything under 6'2", driving a nice car, good hygiene, good job etc. The sort of people that 20 years ago she'd encounter pretty infrequently.7

In the old days these women might get chatted up by guys not that often, maybe a chance encounter at work or if they actively went out to pubs/clubs etc. Let's say they get approached a couple of times a week and that's only when they make a bit of an effort. Nowadays, they get approached a couple of times an hour with no effort on their part, so can be a lot more fussy even though the 'conversion rate' must be absolutely appalling compared to oldschool flirting/dating.
