That avatar game is Ray Tracing only - just like metro exodus enhanced edition, Ray Tracing cannot be turned off, it uses hardware on rx6000 and rtx3000 and software for everything else

I must admit I've not looked at Ubisoft since they left Steam. I think the last Snowdrop title I played was The Division.
+1

I think the only game I got which I think was given to me for free was the Star Trek vr game. Not interested in having a uplay account. Once they do it so you don’t need one then I will consider them again.

RTX 2060 demolishes "Series S" and nearly performs near "PS5" in Metro Exodus EE with RT. As a matter of fact, with DLSS, it probably outpaces Series X. Not to mention console versions have tesselation shut down and no hairworks. 2060 can easily have them and still outperform a PS5 easily

Its just that most of the PC folks are not content with toning down some settings and such. Outside of that, RTX 2060 is a perfectly capable RT GPU as long as you limit RT effects like they do on consoles

1440p high settings, tesselation on, no dlss, high rt (higher counts of ray, consoles use normal setting), only rt reflections off (all consoles have rt reflections off as well), 40-55 fps :)

use dlss and you're golden... around 58:50... it pushes 60+ fps pretty much all the time

considering ps5/xs can have res drops below 900p and general range is between 1080p-1512p, i would say that's fairly impressive, considering its the lowest end RTX card nvidia did produce, yet people gave nvidia so much hate, they told that its an rt incapable gpu and such... and it can perfectly have a go with ray tracing capable "consoles".

Unwell considering that we already know the ps5 only has the RT performance of a 2060 it is not a surprise at all that the 2060 demolishes the series s as it should

Looks like they'll be really pushing Snowdrop with this one. Then again, it wouldn't be a surprise if Ubi later downgraded the visuals :o

I hope they don't as I've really been looking forward to a good Avatar game ever since the original movie, Mind you Ubi's track record of blatant visual downgrades is not good -

Far Cry 4
Far Cry 5
Ghost Recon Wildlands
Ghost Recon Breakpoint
Rainbow Six Siege
The Division 1
Watch_Dogs 1
Watch_Dogs 2 - much smaller downgrade compared to WD1
Most of the recent Assassins Creed games

I really wish people in the games industry with some pull would publicly shame them and some type of policy was put in place that would make this type of thing illegal.

Yup ubi are beyond awful for the downgrades but tbf to them, I think they have improved/stopped doing this, at least they have reduced how much of a downgrade they do now ever since the back lash of division 1 and watch dogs 1 massive downgrades.

Since the pathetic Watch_Dogs 1 downgrade which was insulting to be honest, as most of the stuff that was in the E3 demo was in the final game but disabled until that got modded. Since then UBI really hasn't downgraded their games as much apart from The Division 1, 2 looks great. FC5 retail looks very similar to E3 demo and in some places the retail even manages to look nicer.

2080ti pulling ahead of even the 3070ti due to vram

Would you buy a 3070Ti for 4k? If it was VRAM limited I would expect the 3070Ti to do worse before DLSS was switched on, not after.

2080Ti (Turing) has 544 gen 2 tensor cores.
3070Ti (Ampere) has 192 gen 3 tensor cores.

Although gen 3 tensor cores are faster than 2, perhaps the sheer amount found on the 2080Ti takes the performance.

it is vram limited, there are no points denying it..

Where did you see me deny it?

If you look at the graph you can see the 3070Ti beats the 2080Ti without DLSS. How does this show the 3070Ti is VRAM limited?

Because the 3070 Ti is more than capable of 4K, but 8GB VRAM is too small. Nvidia is usually stingy on VRAM and it's frustrating.

I certainly wouldn't recommend 4k to a 3070Ti user.
