Big bummer that it isn't available on just the normal ray tracing mode. Oh well, good thing I got a 4080 for £18 :p

From the info in the round table video Digital Foundry had I'm guessing it will be eventually and maybe even older RT titles updated to feature it as it seriously cleans up the image.

For anyone who has fast internet can you check if ray reconstruction is a toggle or is it enabled by default when using RR please ?

Based on my testing, when you're above 60 fps, you either need lightning quick reactions or/and extremely perfect eye sight to be able to pick out the latency and artifact issues.

I've done some prep for tomorrow out of curiosity for a 3080 how performance will improve or decrease using settings you would actually have to use for a playable experience so one ray tracing with balanced dlss and path tracing with dlss performance:

Also got videos recorded and uploading.

Nvidia gimping ampere already!!!!!!

so we are OK to acknowledge the flaws and issues with RT in current games now that nvidia have an AI solution ;)

The flaws have always been pointed out with ray tracing but even with its issues, it is still a far superior solution to the outdated hacks of raster (unless devs are willing to put in a **** ton of time to get results that are good like rdr 2 and even, you simply can't resolve the issues associated with raster and the only way to resolve said issues is by using ray tracing), not to mention, raster has been around forever thus devs know how to workaround it, what to do etc.

By gimping I assume you mean it lacks the required horsepower to keep up with a much newer architecture ;)

I was kind of being sarcastic as you know certain people will play the "nvidia gimping" card ;) :p :D

And videos with the driver update and 2.0 up now:

Ahh ok, Yeah that crowd... "Why isn't my 6 year old GPU performing exactly like this brand new GPU, OMG Ngreedia gimping GPU's #offended #soylatte #soylife #myfeelings"

TBF though, I wasn't expecting there to be a performance hit based on the previous reviews etc. so there must be something on ada where hardware is providing the boost compared to ampere? Of course, could be an issue maybe that needs a driver update or game patch.

I will say though, DLSS performance and ray tracing reflections etc. now looks incredible, that was my only complaint with dlss performance IQ as it didn't upscale etc. the RT reflections but now, they are so crisp and of course no ghosting etc. Game looks incredible.

Geforce now still patching the game ffs.

I'm guessing that has to do with the optical flow accelerator which is around about 4-5 times faster on Ada compared to Ampere, Maybe just a theory or could be to do with the faster Tensor cores.

4090 time......

:p

Make sure you turn on reflex btw, even when not using frame gen and fps is around 50, it makes a huge difference:

The new car sounds are nice!

Wish geforce now would hurry up and finishing updating ffs.
