The Rumour Mill, who do you want/think your club will sign/sell this summer

But your saying its possible? :D
Highlight where ive said/implyed that. ;)

Im just 'excited' at the prospect of having a strike force made up of Gila, Sheva, Pippo & Eto'o.
First choice would obviously be Sheva & Eto'o.
That'd be awesome. :)

You would take Reo Coker ahead of Gatusso (probably the best defensive midfielder in Italy)?
Why do people say Gatusso would struggle in the Premiership, he played in Scotland for Gods sake! Thats rougher than the Premiership!

It was a joke about his beard  Of course i would take him, but im not
against the idea of MU signing good young English players

Because G|mp has a natural hate of Milan, so even if Gatusso was the better than ReoCoker, then he'd still pick Coker over him. :p

I have a natural hate for Italians in general to suggest i just hate Milan would
be off the mark im afraid ;)

I wouls take either of them to be honest i was just expressing my opinions by
taking a swipe at Gattuso's strange beard whilst adding the fact i like Reo-Coker :)

If henry was to leave Arsenal in the summer.

What odds of Van Nistleroy to Arsenal ;) :p

Although i think Henry will stay at Arsenal if we clinch 4th place

I reckon we need to spend money on a decent striker this time round. If Torres is 20m and we can get about 10m funds in then i reckon thats not bad business. Knowing rafa though, any bid would probably involve a swap deal, most likely with Morientes which might be appealing and affordable.

Hmm I'm expecting the worst for RvN now, can see him going and for his own sake he should. A move to Italy may be on the cards I think he can do well there.

Henry hopes for Milan move
While he has been primarily linked with Inter and Barcelona, there are reports that Thierry Henry has his eye on a Milan move.

The 29-year-old striker is expected to leave Arsenal in the summer, as he has not yet signed an extension to the contract that expires in June 2007.

The Champions League Finalist is the hottest property on the transfer market and is a confirmed target for both Inter patron Massimo Moratti and Barcelona.

Italian newspapers today claim Henry is looking for a return to Serie A, where he had a brief spell as a midfielder with Juventus in 1999-00, but not towards the Nerazzurri.

It’s suggested the Frenchman would prefer a switch to Milan, where he could partner Andriy Shevchenko and Kaka in a side that has been at the forefront of European football for several seasons now.

The Rossoneri have been in two of the last four Champions League Finals and reached the last eight every season since their victory in 2003.

Arsenal would release Henry for around £10m, but with Milan focusing on reinforcing their ageing defence, it remains to be seen whether the club will break its financial policy again.

Last summer was already an unusually expensive one for the San Siro outfit, who picked up Alberto Gilardino from Parma for £17m.

They have also been linked with another Premiership hitman, as Ruud Van Nistelrooy is ready to leave Manchester United.

Although we need new defenders, if Henrys was going for under £20m, i'd want Milan to sign him. Or Eto'o. Either way theres the distinct possibility that next season we could have 2 of the top 5 strikers in the world playing for us. An achievment that has rarely been done in club football.

Errr, as if Arsenal would let Henry go for £10m. Even with a year left on his contract he's worth more than that. Distinct lack of quotes there to substantiate said rumour too.

Henry and Shevva was always my dream strikeforce (only for us, obviously ;)), would be a fantastic coup if Milan did get him. Not happening though. :p

Bit of a dodgy article, they can't even get Henry's age right.

I'd say that despite him only have 1 year left on his contract, a bidding war could force the price up closer to the £20m mark.

Isnt there ment to be some daft fifa ruling on players his age that allows him to go on the cheap?
It was mentioned a while back.

And the lack of quotes was one of the things i picked up as well.
Wont happen though. But if it did, i dont think we'd be short of goals next season. :p :D Not that we were this season either.

Dont think liverpool need many players actually, i dont see we have a problem at all at leftback, warnock hasnt put a foot wrong imo, not the most elegant of players but he can do a job, riise imo is a fine player.Traore has actually gotten a lot better, he is still young and can play at centre half, it hink he gets some unfair stick, granted he was bloomin aweful a few years ago.

We are fine in midfield, plenty of backup in centre mid, we will be short on the right, but im not really sure who is going to be available.harry, momo, xabi and stevie have been immense this season.

Up front is where we have a massive problem, i dont really rate any of our strikers, robbie is great but realistically he isnt going to get much more than 10 goals in a season for us, get shot of ciise & nando for definate, hopefully rafa will bring back Pongolle.

Rumours round anfield a couple of weeks back were centred around bellamy, tbh im not so sure, good player but is a bit of a muppet.

Problem is we have no money and if we want someone good, chelsea will be in for em, also with it being a world cup year prices are higher than they should be, i really dont want another diouf on the books.

What other strikers are going to be available, not that many estabnlished strikers are doing the rounds imo, which is why i think fergie is mad to let RVN go as he is a proven top class striker.

Considering united and chelsea are after a striker aswell, i dont fancy rafa's chances in landing someone, yet another season with crouch and nando upfront eh!

We do need a 2nd LB, Warnock is very average; posistioning is particuarly poor and Traore can't stay on his feet. Like i have already said a couple of times it looks like we are getting Aurellio from Valencia on a free (Quedrue has also been linked over the last few weeks as well). We will need a CM if (like i think will happen) and Didi leaves; although we won't need to spend £m's as we do have Alonso, Sissoko and Gerrard, we will need to bring someone in. We desperately need a RM (have done for years), would like to see Joaquin but doubt we will get him. Will proberly end up getting either Pennant :( or Victor (don't know a great deal about him). We definantly need 2 strikers if both Nando and Cisse go (which they will) and despite what people think, we will have some cash to spend. We always spend between £15-25m but this year with the mass exodus thats expected (Cisse, Nando, Dudek, Kirkland, Traore, Warnock, Hamann, Pongolle, Le Tallec, Cheyrou, Diao) we will have the usual £15-25m plus all the sales money. Therefore i will be ***** off if we don't spend £30m+, with most of that being spent on the 2 strikers and the RM.

Dont agree on warnock he has done fine when called upon, dont think didi will go either, he is too old to go anywhere else and get regular 1st team action.

As for money, sorry to say but we aint actually got none :( of all the names going out, only nando and ciise will fetch much, the rest are worth pennies, id like to see us keep le tallec and pongolle anyway, they are only young and have taleent.

We'll have to just disagree on Warnock. As for the money, we will have money to spend; last season we spent around £30m after sales (Reina £6, Agger £5.4m, Sissoko £5.6, Crouch £7m and Gonzalez £5.5m and Zenden on a free and a few young lads for a total of around £2m) and only sold Baros and Diouf for any real money (£10m for the pair) the only problem was that we had to use that to bring in lots of players. Would be interesting to know the last season when Liverpool have spent less than £15m, in Benitez's first year we spent close to £40m with only the sale of Owen for £8m and that year we recorded record loses due to paying Houllier and Co off. Even the year we missed out on the CL we spent £18m. We should surely get somewhere in the region of £20m for the players i mentioned in my last post (Around; £7m Cisse, £3m Morientes, £2m Dudek, £2m Kirkland, at least £4m total for Le Tallec, Pongolle, Traore and Warnock with Hamann (if he leaves) Diao and Cheyrou on free's). Also have to remember that at the AGM Parry said they were quietly confident of securing an investment deal by the summer (ok he has been saying that for 2 years now) and also Benitez has put them under pressure to give him cash to spend.
Its not nailed on that Didi will go, but he has hardly had much first team football this year and with Sissoko, Gerrard and Alonso he isn't likely to get much more, i wouldn't be suprised if he went back to Germany or maybe even Bolton. Le Tallec dug his own grave last year when he demanded first team football and Pongolle isn't a Benitez style player and will want to move to get more games.

Ive been thinking about this, we have a decent midfield at the moment and playing gerrard on the right hand side and giving him license to do whatever he wants was worked wonders this year.

Keeping alonso and momo in the middle with didi as reserve, gonzalez/kewell on the left. Letting paul anderson have a shot on the right hand side as backup to gerrard. Looks like we have the brazillian bloke for free at left back, we have enough cover at centre back.

Get shut of morientes back to spain and cisse back to france. So ideally, we only need to invest in a couple of strikers.

Maybe torres, depending on the price.

Left back should be covered with Aurelio having apparently already signed, guess we find out some time next week.

"I have said to him we will not stand in his way because we cannot afford to have players at this club who do not want to play for us.

However, the price is £6m, not a penny less. If anybody wants to pay that, they can buy him. If they don't, he can play in the reserves until his contract is over."

Dave Whelan on Pascal Chimbonda

I really hope we dont buy chimbonda, hes ok but we dont need a right back. Im hoping its just media speculation to get his price up
