The Rumour Mill, who do you want/think your club will sign/sell this summer

On a positive note:

Reports in Spain suggest Manchester United are trying to push through a quick deal for Mahamadou Diarra, in order to fend off interest from Real Madrid.

Lyon are insistent that Diarra will not be allowed to leave Stade Gerland, but supremo Jean-Michel Aulas was saying the same about Michael Essien this time last year - and he went on to join Chelsea.

Aulas admitted this week that an offer similar to that of Essien would probably mean he might have to let Diarra leave, although he was not expecting one - so United's reported move could very well come as a shock.

It is claimed that United are putting together a package that could be worth over €27 million (£18 million) - and Lyon could very well be prepared to do business at that price.

Internazionale have also been long-term admirers, but they would struggle to match United's financial muscle - leaving just Real as realistic opposition.

Spanish sources, though, claim Real have a trump card in the race - as it is also being reported that the Malian star wants to move to the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of Old Trafford.

But the turmoil behind the scenes at Madrid, as they need to appoint a new president and coach this summer, means any move for Diarra would have to wait and United are looking to take advantage.

Should United push forward with their interest - as seem likely, then Diarra would be left with a tough decision - as there would be no guarantees that Madrid would even firm up their interest, or indeed whether they would be willing to match the offer from England.

United will obviously have a number of irons in the fire, but Diarra is emerging as Sir Alex Ferguson's main transfer target - as he looks to sign the world class midfielder that The Red Devils have been crying out for, for much of this season.

SWP to Liverpool!

Cant see him sticking around at Chelsea now hes missing out on the world cup and he was originally our first choice until Chelsea dropped their wallet on the table.

I'd agree with that.
But not with Raul being world class. He's been awful for the last few seasons.

I don't think he is world class anymore either, but I wasn't talking about the last few seasons (hence I said a few years back) :)

Boro

Well this might be the first season that our scouts actually have to work for their money. The Steve McClaren motto of prudent scouting always seemed to be 'to go and buy a player who has totally spanked us in any given game, and hope that they would do the same for us!!!'

Awesome rumour mill gossip here but i've heard that Boro were going to launch an ambitious bid for Jonny Woodgate, and for only £2-3 million!!!!!

If we get O'Neill :-

Stillian Petrov??
Bobo Balde???
Peter Lovenkrands has been mentioned again recently

just heard from a very reliable source that liverpool have agreed terms with Craig Bellamy
who's the source? Or is it one of those: "i know Craig Bellamy's brother-in laws, great uncles post-man and he told me about it"?

Wouldnt suprise me to be honest, we'll definitely be bringing in two strikers.

Although if Bellamy is one of them it means its unlikely Aguero will be the other. :(

It's a decent source, that's all I can say to be honest mate. I don't want to land the fella in any trouble. The same bloke gave me the nod about Fowler rejoining the club at the beginning of the week. Fowler signed on the friday.

Plus, when I was at the races a few months back I ended up chatting to Bellamy and he was banging on about how he would love to play for Liverpool, has supported them since he was a boy and could get us more goals than Cisse and Morientes!

Seems Pearce is letting a few players go including Kiki Musampa, Albert Riera and David Sommeil.

Also kewell denies he's going to be sold

Now liverpool are being linked with martins from inter. Good player IMO, but take it with a pinch of salt as liverpool are linked with evey striker on the planet. also SWP for 16mill is rumored but cant see cheslski selling to us, not like they need the money.

reports are coming out of Spain that we have signed Auerlio on a free transfer, apaprently he's signed for 4 years.

which means along the lines of:

Madrid-Based Marca have confirmed that Liverpool have sewn up the deal to bring in Left Full-back Fabio Aurelio from Valencia on a Free Transfer.

Although this is old news, its worthwhile noting that some sources still had Villareal or even Real Madrid as contenders for his signature.

He should be vying for a place in the left-back slot with John Arne Riise and Stephen Warnock.

Here is the original story in today's paper (for those who speak Spanish).

Also reports are coming in that Parry has flown over to South America to speak to Aguero about a £15m move to Liverpool.
