Newcastle have agreed a deal to take Rossi on loan, maybe Tevez to utd tomorrow then.

Well if that's true, then it's a sure sign that Man Utd are about to sign a striker. hmmm... let's see what unfolds tomorrow. :)

Rossi would get Premiership experience with the option of us taking him back in January. I'm happy with that as long as it's Tevez and not Trez.

Newcastle have agreed terms with United to take Giuseppe Rossi on loan until 1 January 2007.

The Italian striker will link up with the Magpies immediately and, according to Sir Alex Ferguson, will gain some invaluable first team experience.

"It was a big decision for us especially as we don't have the choice of strikers," admitted the United boss.

"But this is something that Giuseppe wanted as he needs regular first team football.

"When he returns he will be a more experienced player who will be able to offer us much more."

Rossi joined United in July 2004 from Serie A side Parma. After impressing for the Reserves in his first few months at Old Trafford, he earned a well deserved call-up to the senior team.

His first team debut came in the Carling Cup victory over Crystal Palace in November 2004. He has since made a further 11 appearances, bagging four goals in the process.

dont think Man U would let him go permanently.

looking at Fergie's comments, he has no intention of bringing another body in tommorrow upfront.

on a side note, according to SSN Real Madrid have signed Adriano

with the Fat Ronaldo going the other way.

We cant play Rossi against Man UTD. ah well, would have been nice.

good move from us, came from nowhere like :p we will see how he gets on, knowing our luck he'll chance to set the place alight with goals.....then obviously go back to Man UTD and we will all be upset :p hmmm think if he does well we would definitely try to keep him, but whether that would be possible, highly unlikey as fergie adores him.

Ah well, defender in the last 24hrs then? how about Nugent now :)

Don't forget MU have Solkskjaer, Smith and Scholes back this season to add to their attacking prowess, and the arrival of Carrick should free up Giggs to assume a more forward role if required. They can afford to loan out Rossi without bringing in another striker.

Solskjaer might get crocked again, Saha WILL get crocked and Smith will be months away from full sharpness.....seems very light....big risk imho not bringing in another forward.

Haha finished last season pretty strongly didn't he? Put plenty of apps together in a decent run. Gotta give him a chance.

he did, but i wouldnt have confidence in him getting through a season without picking up an injury which is gonna keep it out for a decent length of time (1 month+)

Charlton sign Senegal international, Souleymane Diawara from Sochaux for £3.8 million.

A position that we have needed quality in for a long time, especially with Herman out for 3 games, Sorondo out for 6 weeks and Jon Fortune injured. Good signing. :)

Before we signed him his injury record was excellent. We signed him with an injury and insisted on playing him.

hmm letting rossi go is a tad risky, but on the other hand it will do him well in the long run.

Sahs / Solskjaer / Smith and Rooney should be enough cover. If the worst comes to the worst we could always play one up front with Giggs in behind.
