The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Is the whole Vega experience similar to the Ryzen experience?

Good innovative core product. But still lots of rough edges and needs time to mature.

No, ryzen/ryzen +is a sound architecture with a few refinements, implemented and still needed.
Both are competitive with intel especially in laptop form.
Vega is just an inefficient, big die expensive to manufacture overclocked Fury with architectural features and tweaks that mostly are unused, and effectively can only compare to nvidias laptop chip.

Would rather wait for new cards now. NV and updated AMD cards can't be too far away?
Used an RX580 for a few days this weekend and quite enjoyed giving an AMD card a try, having not touched them for years. Quite like the new Driver software (Adrenalin) vs the old Catalyst software. Never got to try it out for gaming though, sadly, just setting it up for someone to try some mining and took longer than expected due to an issue although it was Windows 10 Spring update causing grief rather than card or drivers. Would have liked to have compared it to a 1070 Ti. 1070 Ti would be ahead of course but by how much
Seemed decent quality, quiet. Bit more competitive oomph needed (gaming).
Will be interesting to see what next cards from AMD bring.

What happens to Vega-64 after GeForce 11/20 series arrives? Decent price drop, or keeps on truckin' at ~£600?
That would depend entirely if the Geforce 11/20 series has better mining/price than Vega (as it's the excellent mining performance that's keeping prices so high due to supply/demand).

Well that was weird, thought mine had died there, fired her up, and she wouldn't come on, no Red LED lit up, so she just sat there with all fans going, tried a hard restart, nope, so a hard off/on with the power button, and she came on and booted fine. :p

Use the iChill option for gaming and you'll see a great little bit of software genius. It's a great tool to use. Vega 64 peeps could also use iChill to drop power draw by over 100W for sure.
