The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

What are people's opinions on Vega 64 with a 3440x1440 freesync screen?

I'm thinking about putting together an upstairs PC and would like to try out an all AMD build. Almost exclusively single player content other than some WoW.

Also screen suggestions would be helpful - I've looked at the LG 34UC88 or Samsung LC34F791?
I have a Vega 64 (Red Devil) and a Asus Rog Strix XG35VQ and it working very well for me. Not used the two monitors you been looking at though so might not be much of help overall. :p But it is a great combo, Vega and a freesync 3440x1440 monitor ! ;) :p

I am looking for a new monitor to replace the 2730Z, but there is no 100hz+ 3440x1440 Freesync IPS atm at reasonable price :( (the LG is £1000!)

Checked yours is VA. :(
And the sad face is that I am moving from a 1ms TN panel monitor without blurring.

Would people with the 64 Red Devil mind pointing me to their OC settings please? I've got one that is ok but not 100% stable. Looking for the best day to day performance I can get on air.

I have had a look but this thread is pretty mammoth now. I'll post mine once I'm not on my laptop.

Thanks

It's great! You can't always max out *everything*, but the visual difference between high and ultra is pretty minimal as it is so that's really not an issue.

I'm not on air (nor have I used it on air for very long) so can't really give you any specific settings. In general though you're probably best off with just undervolting it a bit to keep heat down and that'll improve performance in itself.

Try these

Maybe raise Power Limit to 50% and if your HBM doesn't take it, lower to 1050-1080

Outherwise 6% adaptive 1150mv P7 state, +50% PL, and 1000mv the HBM power indicator.
After that raise the HBM until it crashes (1100 max),

Thanks, my current is more or less the same so I've increased the hbm voltage from 1000 to 1050 at 1100 to see who I get on. Appreciate it.

How's the monitor mate? I know is cheap at £625 range, but how it is on fast paced gaming like Battlefield, Fallout etc?
(I play WOT esports).

Havn't played those, but other fast paced games ive played, run fine, no different to how they ran on my XL2730Z (which was a lower ms, and a higher Hz), they just look better PQ wise, as VA panel, and on a 35" curved in UW. :D

I have the 2730Z that is why asking.
Having looked at the LG new monitor, I don't see why it could cost 50% more than this or the CF791/CJ791.

I do find it quite funny that when the Vega 64 launched last year many people were like "Hurr, GTX1080 grade performance for the same price but a year late, Hurr Hurr". Well Nvidia have just launched the GTX2070, with GTX1080 grade performance for more money two years late, and many seem to be lapping it up xD

IMHO Vega 64 will age better than the Hawaii against its own generation cards.

Lol, weird isn't it? Some of the recent reviews seem to be showing the fabled fine wine in action as well. I'm delighted with mine still at 3440.
