I wonder though, are all b-die's the same? My RAM is b-die and it seems to be poor as it can only do 3000MHz and not 3200MHz at the XMP settings.Just looked up the b-die varient of the predator ram kit.. jeezus they are expensive. They cost twice as much as what i paid for my 3200mhz cl16.

We will see, Corsair have agreed to send yet another set. I am not holding my breath.Does sound suspicious. Wouldn't put it past Samsung to capitalize on the hype around b-die as im sure some of the yield is less that optimal. Enough tinfoil hat for today

Have you checked the chip quality of your RAM using the DRAM Calculator? It seems pretty accurate. Both my FlareX and Ripjaws are about 95%. and they do oc above their rated speed.
Here is the one for my Ripjaw, which i thought all this time was M-die. I checked with Thaiphoon Burner and it actually is C-die.

I am not sure if I should be using V1/V2 for profile version or 1/2 for memory rank.
On V1 and 1 I get 93% with a overclocking potential of 4110 CL16
On V2 and 2 I get 81% with a overclocking potential of 3600 CL16
Not sure how it works it out to be honest with you.
I would be happy if it just did XMP for god sakes
Yep. I used Thaiphoon Burner before and that says B-Die. That is why I am confused a bit as people here seem to go on about b-die like it is comething specialStep 1

Verify the type of die.

Depends on who you bought them from. I know most places here in Denmark will only give a refund after the 14 days are up if the product cannot be replaced by something equal. We will see, Corsair have agreed to send yet another set. I am not holding my breath.
It has passed the 14 day window, do you think I have any chance of getting a full refund considering these were sold to me faulty?
So according to DRAM Calculator my RAM has potential to OC to 4110MHz, yet can only do 3000MHz. Got to be really unlucky here or my other thought is something the auto settings on my mobo is doing is working out great for overclocking my cpu, but having the opposite impact on my ram.
I tried to have a conversation about this with Corsair, the support guy did not even bother engaging with it and just wants to send out another set of ram.B-die were the reason people were paying a premium to get it as its a solid performer that seems to be the pattern to get the high speeds, lower latencies.
I think you are overlooking a crucial setting as theres no way multiple kits cant run at the rated speed. Off chance is its just a board+bios that doesnt get on but I would say thats unlikely.
But if it is the same slot, how can it be the mobo? From my sketchy understanding of the XMP profiles is they (guys in the factory test unit) would set all the details manually and thrashing it for ages before confirming it can be run at that speed. The settings then get pasted into a file which is added to the RAM. Your mobo will just read the profile.
If a stick handles it but the others dont then its likely an issue with the mobo. The more sets they ship to you that display the same behaviour to me leans towards dodgy board. I suppose testing another brand that is on your QVL sheet would also confirm, but if its a well known brand and your running it under the top rated speed it should run in almost any system.
But if it is the same slot, how can it be the mobo?
I tested same settings in exact same slot.
sounds like the other 3 fail or am I missing your detail somewhere?why is it that out of the 4 sticks only 1 can hold the xmr profile
Thing is I have mentioned everything a few times either on this thread or others, you maybe missed some posts. How many sticks?
sounds like the other 3 fail or am I missing your detail somewhere?
Yep, done that already. The stick that works always works. Which means it is not a mobo hardware issue.Right so I would test a stick in one slot at a time. You can alternate sticks to see if any are truly bad. If you have 4 slots try them all out. Dont put both in until you have checked for faults.
