The Show Off Your Tattoo Thread

Large gain in mass will of course stretch it out, but you should be okay on a small amount of gain.
I'm naturally skinny like that and do intend in bulking up a little but it won't be enough to cause distortion :)

A good artist would be able to help you with ways to avoid distortion.

There is no way of avoiding distortion and stretching, if you gain weight it naturally stretches, the way not to let it distort is by not bulking up massively.

Yeah i meant that artists can do designs that will look good even when it gets stretched to some degree.

That is amazing. Pics once healed plz.

Don't be disappointed when the red fades after about 4-5 days, the redness due to it being sore and the actual colour itself will dull down a bit and look quite washed out compared to now, as mine have (however I found mine to be too bright in the first place!)

i'm considering a guardian angel tattoo but i have one question as i can't seem to get a straight answer and i would appreciate it if someone can show me one thats done...

can a tattoo be done over scar tissue?

i have a bit of a big scar on my left arm i want covered up and i was thinking a guardian angel if i had it done.

also whats the best site to see about designs? i've seen hundreds but i honestly have no idea what i'm looking at really in terms of possible??

Best option would be to chat with a tattoo artist, preferably one with a good reputation and skill. In this area, cheap will never come with quality so expect to pay out for decent work.

On top of that you want someone who is confident enough to tattoo over scar tissue as some of the ones I've seen were absolutely dreadful :(

One thing I've never understand about most of the people who have just had one done is they talk about how much it cost before anything else. Surely a tattoo is one of those things you'd not really care about the price. Now these are the people have had really generic tribals deisgns or girls with stars.

Anyone care to share any reasoning or is it just "typical" behaviour?

First thing you do when you buy a fancy car is get asked what it cost. Same when you buy a new house (oh i wonder what that cost him!) etc.

It's not even when being asked I find it annoying. Generaly it's been a case of "LOOK AT ME, LOOK.....It cost £25 from xxxxxxx, would have been £35 at yyyyy." Although on the other hand, friends with half sleeves and large ammounts of work always quote the amount of hours before anything else.

If you meant me bud,i know what to expect, not my first tattoo;) one of many & it should'nt look washed out after 4-5 days,of course the colour will settle down a bit.
But washed out......no chance

Scar tissue can be tattood over but it depends on what the scar is like and as said before the skill of the artist.
I would look at the tattoo artists shop and see what they have. They will usually also have magazines to look at too. A lot of websites will make you pay for the unwater marked design and some will have poor quality images of the tattoos. You could try deviantart there are some talented artists in the world and a lot of them are there.
Failing that you could come up with a basic design, show it to the artist and s/he may be able to do you a few designs (this will cost you!)
good luck.

@int my red's are bright as hell, and there healed.

Ah I meant compared to the initial brightness you get when it's first put in. The majority of colours hold quite well but the reds do fade in comparison.

Also I've noticed mine look washed out because of the cream sitting on my skin, after a quick rinse they look brighter :p
