The Show Off Your Tattoo Thread

Healing nicely, just got a patch the size of a 5p that hasn't healed fully yet. Just moisturising it as soon as I feel it tighten for now, didn't run in to any problems.

Had an epic day of peeling though, thought it was a little excessive that all of the loose skin came off within a day (without me picking it) which is fine apparently :D

Lol yeah, I had to wear a white shirt to work a few days after I got it done, the inside of my shirt had a dragon shaped outline on the inside where it had peeled off!

Just had an update from my friend. He should be finishing up the design for my guitar tattoo this weekend. Pics will be up when i get it!

worth every minute though, and never going to regret it

quick question, when tattoos are healing and scabbing over, is it natural for them to shrivel a bit? being where mine is i'm expecting some deformation due to muscle use etc, butdo they normally wrinkle when healing and afterwards return to normal?

I noticed that with my first and only one, the first time I had it done and the recent top up due to colour loss it did kind of wrinkle. It looked very odd but by the after about 4-5 weeks the original looked fine. The top up is just at that "wrinkled" stage :)

are you using creams, dont let it dry out...but dont use too much cream to make it soggy, i've seen some tattoos really badly! by bathing too much, too much cream etc

yea, using creams so the scabs don't break open, i'/ll use a little less as i'm probably over saturating it >.< thanks

From what I understand, it's worse to put too much cream on than too little. Barely coated is enough.

dont even coat it, just use a tiny amount! try and keep it from drying out, but dont make it soggy, if its soggy the scabbing etc becomes soggy! also if its too creamy (Lol) it becomes sticky, and clothing can pull scabs of etc...

i only put cream on it when it's becoming stiff, as it's on my arm constantly moving, i'm worried about the whole thing splitting =s i certainly make sure it's not sticking to my clothes

just keep enough to keep it from cracking then :)

cool cheers guys, first tattoo, and want it to stay in the best condition, guess i'm just being too overly cautious

when you start getting more you wont even have to think about it healing as you'll just know how to do it and learn how you heal best :)
