The Tesla Thread

My last car was a 370+ bhp tuned 7.5 golf R, so sub 4 seconds. What struck me is how the M3P doesn't require launch control etc. How many ICE cars are 3.2s to 60 without launch or any drama?

The motors are electric so computer controlled therefore accel/decel control is inherent in the system. What you will notice (or not) is how unintrusive the traction control can be. Most of the time it's already modulated whichever wheel was losing traction before you can react.

I've noticed it kicking in a few times, mainly when one tyre goes over a smooth metal grate.

I bought the same '3D' all weather matts as @{SAS}TB from Ali Express, mine have not arrived yet but should be any day. I think @{SAS}TB posted some pictures in this thread when he got his car in December. You should find them with a quick thread search.

Yeah this is the only time I've noticed it, and only if I've put my foot flat down when moving off from a red light.
That was pretty much my exact situation. I'm sure I did get a slight 4 wheel skid going round a roundabout, not even going that fast but just felt like all 4 tyres just let go momentarily. I do have kumos on so not the most premium of brands.

The reviews suggest they don't cover the whole of the foot rest, so I didn't go for them

Good spot. That’d annoy me. I’ll keep an eye out for a deal on better ones. I will order the boot liner though as that’ll get a lot more use and looks pretty decent now they’ve finally revised the design.

EDIT: So I did place an order for the mats and cancelled it not long after. Order showed as 'cancelled' in the Tesla store account page.

Just received two DHL shipping notifications with different consignment numbers. Looks like one for the mats, one for the boot liner that I'd ordered today. Ah well, will see how I get on with them and return if I don't like them.

Put an order in for a Midnight Silver M3P. Time to make the shift to an electric car! Wait times have gone up a bit, it’s May delivery estimate at the moment.

Does it come with carpet floor mats? Wasn’t clear what accessories were included.

As far as I’m aware the Long Range and Performance come with mats, but I’m also led to believe they aren’t the best quality. I guess I’ll decide when it arrives if I need something aftermarket or not.

May is quite a delay considering when I ordered on the 29th (16 days ago) I was told “March” (app currently shows 3rd to 17th of March).

Midnight Silver was my 2nd choice, looks great IMO.

It went up this week. Not sure if Tesla are having supply issues or they are getting a lot of demand after VW, BMW and others filled their order books for the year and started cancelling orders.

Which colour did you go for? I was tempted by deep blue.

I went with red in the end. Blue looks fantastic online and lovely in the showroom, but dull in anything other than bright sunlight. Shame really as I fancied blue (then again, my last 3 cars were blue).

They all come with carpet matts, they fit well but they are pretty generic and not the thickest so I wouldn't expect they'll late more than the length of your typical lease/PCP.
