The Tesla Thread

They'll last a few of years without any problems, they are just a bit thin but I wouldn't worry about rushing out.

I only ordered some new ones as I wanted something more weather resistant and easier to keep clean. I'll probably put the carpet ones back in for the nicer months and swap back again for the autumn.

My wife's 11 year old MX-5 still has its original mats, I just wouldn't expect them to last that kind of time.

Has anyone bought any nice thick pile carpet mats? I despise rubber mats so they won’t be going anywhere near my car, but a nice quality carpet mat might have to replace the standard ones if a decent fitting set is available.

Congrats both of you! Enjoy.

Over 2 years later and still enjoying 'surprise' charges. Went to UWE Bristol this week, nothing on Zap Map, but turned up and low and behold, a bank of like 6/8 free chargers. Don't mind if I do!

Made stonking it from 30-70 on the motorway worth the 'mpg'.

Thank you. I am very excited.

What do you use Zap Map for?

Yeah as above, there's basically three resources you'll want to use.

The obvious is Tesla's Supercharger map for planning long trips.

Zap Map lists all public chargers, and of most use is the info/comments section which helps with working out what the cost is, if they're even there still, if they're functioning etc. It's community-led so you can report broken or ICEd chargers, or say you've had a successful charge and whatnot. As above, not all chargers are listed though but I would say that's actually quite rare, especially for something like a university.

The third and one of the most useful is ABRP (A Better Route Planner). It's Google Maps but for EVs so it'll plan your route using chargers, and Supercharges if you're a Tesla owner. Select your car, put in your home address and stick Dubrovnik as your destination and it'll show you all your stops, how long you have to charge for and to what % etc to get to the next charger and so on. I use it a lot, not just for as long journeys as that but also there-and-backs to work out where and when (and if) I need to stop.

Thanks for the tips I will have a play around. I gonna be one of those saddo that knows all the EV chargers before I actually own an EV.

Quick question, are free chargers still a thing? (if they ever were)

Yep, Zap Map allows you to filter by cost. Most are customer/guests only which is obviously great if you're one of them, but some still exist in supermarkets or car parks where you pay for parking as well.

Quick question for you lot, is there a settings button on the Spotify app or not. Just wanted to check what settings there are (I'd imaging a screen like what you get on your phone).

Nope. The only option is to log in and out of your own Premium account (or switch to using Tesla's built in account). Outside of that, only options are related to adjusting the speakers (EQ, sub, etc)
