Jpaul. What about my activity key reference, conveniently ignored I guess?
You're right. All beaches around Devon and cornwall are positively littered with lockers for this exact reason. My mistake. I'm sure every day the average motorist struggles with how to lock the car before jumping into the ocean miles from anywhere with a locker or other secure storage.
This is the emergency key for use when the remote fails. I really wouldn't be leaving the vehicle remote inside the car like that, especially on a car with keyless start.

It shouldn't be an issue in this country as its too cold to swim in the see. You're right. All beaches around Devon and cornwall are positively littered with lockers for this exact reason.
I should thread ban you for this level of level-headednessWhy is this going round in circles so much? The RFID keycard is waterproof in the same way your credit card is (moreso probably as no chip and pin). Turn bluetooth off on your phone, put phone in glovebox (and pin protect if you really want), then lock the car with the RFID card and... do whatever you want?

Where do you put the card though?
Can you unlock them with an Apple Watch ?
Exactly. Not sure how having a card isn’t read of a key is any better. You still got to hide it. As said earlier some OEMs have wrist bands.Where would you put your key? Personally for me if the "where do I put my x" problem was large enough I'd buy an RFID ring and use that as my key.
You can only unlock with Apple Watch if you use a third-party app like Tessie or Nikola. Even then you'd need a cellular watch with an active data plan if you didn't also have your phone on you.
Absolutely true, no arguments from me. I'm just saying that for those of us who use "phone key", the way to protect the phone AND lock it in the car is to turn bluetooth off and use the keycard (or a ring).Exactly. Yeah. If I pull my trips today (commute to work and return home on the same roads) you can see the difference.Oh I’m fully expecting things to be worse in the coldest months, but pre-conditioning helps, no?

Is it though? By which I mean is it overall more efficient to pre-condition (and thus draw more from the mains than just charging alone), or to drive and let the car sort itself out enroute?only in the sense it’s cheating “consumption”
