The "Top Gear", Season 24/25/26 thread

Was I the only one bothered by the fact they jumped around non-linearly on the Nurburgring including even approaching cars in one section and actually passing them on a completely different one? heh.

it looked like the other cars were slowing right down to let the Golf past, i thought this episode was quite good esp about the Fiat 124, because the old Fiat definitely looked miles better than that modern thing.

Pretty full episode!

Enjoyed the Aston section even though you know the driving was nearly all stunt drivers, the GTI section as below was fun but obviously staged.

The GT86 bit seemed to go on forever and the 124 segment was meh.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was staged to a degree.

Exactly - of course it was staged. It's a entertainment programme. It's not supposed to be a full factual, scientific analysis of x,y,z.

Yeah was slightly erked by it and the fact a lot of the cars would have at least re-passed or caught the golf on 2 straights but I can believe Sabine would have got them on the twistys due to her knowledge of the track and skill

I found this one really difficult to get into, I found the first half just plain boring... maybe it was me rather than the program though.

Extra gear was good tonight, being a once certified boyo I enjoyed the revisiting cruising section :)

At the end of the day most people even on more closed events don't tend to drive too insane on the ring while Sabine was obviously pushing it - I doubt most of the other drivers even had helmets on heh.

The ring is a bit of an oddity though - cars that would push past them on the straights on any other circuit might not find the straights as much of an advantage due to the surface and/or fastest line for them through the overall section not necessarily being flat out through the whole straight (I'm not doing a very good job of explaining that) - vehicles that are designed for that track have quite a big advantage.

First time I've watched it since the regime change. Enjoyed the Aston bit but other than that though obviously trying to emulate the Clarkson era the 3 presenters just don't click. Matt Leblanc is alright but I found Chris Harris in the studio segments just plain annoying.

I thought Matt and Chris were starting to mesh a bit better in some of the driving bits - still awkward in the studio though yeah. Overall I thought it was quite a strong episode despite a few clunky bits.
