The "Top Gear", Season 24/25/26 thread

Aston and AMG bit - Very good
Fiat 124 bit - pretty good
Everything else I could have quite happily missed.

Rory and Sabine together on screen screaming away was nearly enough to make me switch over :p

At the end of the day most people even on more closed events don't tend to drive too insane on the ring while Sabine was obviously pushing it - I doubt most of the other drivers even had helmets on heh.
The ring is a bit of an oddity though - cars that would push past them on the straights on any other circuit might not find the straights as much of an advantage due to the surface and/or fastest line for them through the overall section not necessarily being flat out through the whole straight (I'm not doing a very good job of explaining that) - vehicles that are designed for that track have quite a big advantage.

Yeah I kind of get what you mean I didn't really factor in that most of the cars there are casual drivers and most non professionals

Matt Le Blanc is pretty good with potential to get better.

Whilst Chris Harris, other than when doing individual car reviews, is incredibly boring with little presence or personality. I would rather watch the American in TGT than Harris do his circuit training with the celebs, he is annoying when trying to convey any sort of personality at all, with terrible delivery. Keep him in the cars.

The other guy Rory from the GTI piece appears to have potential but he doesn't seem to interact with the others in the studio, maybe a confidence thing but otherwise Le Blac is the only one to offer any stage presence or potential for development, the other two, not so much.

Funny that, being a proper actor and all

Saying that I don't think the lass was a great guest to have on.

Getting better, studio felt much better, Tamsin thingy is always good value too and the dynamic is getting better.

I actually really enjoyed SIARPC this week, she was funny, and i was actually in stitches when Chris was trying to teach her to drive.

Overall, another good episode, nice light hearted entertainment and plenty of giggles here, even off the missus who doesn't watch it!

I burst out laughing at the police bit, where the translation came on 'it's Joey from Friends and a bald guy in a crap jacket' or something like that.

The communication between the presenters isn't and actually won't come close to the original trio. They're different personalities and with different interests. I feel it's only the money that they're there for. I only watch the program for the cars, the presenting is ok but it just lacks excitement.

The star in the car bit is pointless. Yesterday just seemed to drag on. Also the bit where Matt finds something totally irrelevant to cars such as the muck spreader. I find that bit like when Jeremy would say he'd found something on the internet.

Chris Harris while a great car reviewer he just doesn't seem to be comfortable, it's like he really wants to go all out expressing himself but falls short, then comes across really weird.

Rory has bags of potential, I feel out of the three he seems the most eager. He just lacks confidence as others have said.

I think we're all used to seeing 3 mates messing around with the added bonus of nice cars. So our views on what Top gear had become was exactly that, and not the car review show it was when it first started.

These 3 just seem like work colleagues, no chemistry. Yes the car reviews are a bit better, less messing about etc. It's just lacking the entertaining punch for me at the moment. It probably will change and they gain some chemistry between them which may occur in future seasons.

I really want to like the show but yesterday's episode was just bland for me, it's not because of the content but because of the presenting.

it looked like to me that the other cars were ``cruising`` around, because she was flying past them !!!!!
Well she does know every part of the track by memory so can drive faster than many of the other drivers who have perhaps only been there a few times and are a bit scared (though this is all to be expected when she was passing Porsches in a Transit lol).

The editing whilst they went round the ring was all over the place, like others have said most of the cars she past were just cruising around and not actually going for it.

The transit segment she did previously was better.

I was really enjoying it until Le Blanc turned left at Hammerhead, then it went downhill from there.

Chris Harris gets more annoying by the week, Sabine can drive but shouldn't be allowed to talk (has she aged 10 years since the last season?!) and the guest was just dull as dishwater, not helped by having presenters who can't conduct an interview.

I can't comment on the rest - I fell asleep.

I thought if a bit cheesy turn left at hammerhead was kind of a cool gimmick - atleast it was a bit different.

Sometimes I think she just wills the car around - if you watch any of her videos really aggressive and some odd lines which if just about anyone else did they'd be picking armco out their teeth :s
