The "Top Gear", Season 24/25/26 thread

I know what people mean about Harris, seems they are trying to build him into the grumpy man, the May if you like. He can be a bit snarky. I remember making a joke at his expense at an event and he didn't take it well, not badly just didn't see the funny side, but I wont for a moment pretend I know that chap and he tends to answer my Tweets when I ask him a question so perhaps he was having a bad day. He can pedal however and he does know his motors and is a proper petrol head so I'm happy to give him time to get into a place where he gives his best. I think the show is getting better, the talky bits are less difficult to watch, though still need lots of work to build up a true rapport but think the features are starting to come together and they seem more focused on the cars at the centre of the show, not the pranks. I don't rush to watch it, iPalyer job for last nights show but I enjoy some of it and for me any program without adverts is a rare thing these days and the only type of program I can watch anymore on TV.

I will agree with others that the star segment needs to go back to the old format or reworked again, I ended up skipping most of it apart from the lap last night and it cut the show down to 35 minutes or so.

Except that's not what people want to watch?

If someone is in the market for a new car, do you really think they're going to consider the opinions of a car-based entertainment show over their own research, proper test drives conducted by magazines, and by visiting a dealer??

yes you have to do your own research/ test drives etc........ but the show is pointless because it's neither that entertaining or that informative like it used to be.

the ``gang`` used to argue about which car was best in the studio later on, but now that's missing..........one guy will say ``nice car`` and the others wont argue back !

therefore it seems to me that the three guys dont gell, just look at this below it's hilarious and this is what's missing !

they need to get the old crew back

I enjoyed last nights episode again. However, i can't help but think that i'm the only one who can stand Rory Reid. He's passionate. Ok, a little too passionate sometimes, but i don't mind him.

Would i be right in thinking the Twingo section was filmed in the North Yorkshire Moors and Middlesbrough? I think i recognised some of the locations, the brick wall with the holes in is in Middlesbrough.

They were arguing in the week before episode with the lamborghini and the porsche.

I'd rather someone a bit goofy and pleasant than the misery that was Harris the first few episodes. I quite like Reid to be honest.

Rory seems isolated all the time

Chris is trying too hard to get a reaction

Episode wise it was good but again it's all been done before with the car vs other transport race.

that's off topic
but if and when i do buy, it wont be an Evo, more likely a WRX STI....... I cant post in anymore about it like that crap last year, i just have to do or dont, but you asked so that's my reply.

Been there done that. I did love my WRX STI v6 (grey import). Tuned up to 340bhp and she was an animal.

Sadly I'm not so keen on the newer types.

of the newer ones i prefer the 2012 version, but the 2016 version looks much better in real life and i definitely prefer driving it to the Honda Type R.

Laughed at the hilariously unprofessional police taking photos of the Bugatti, then forcing him to re-plate it at the border.
