The "Top Gear", Season 24/25/26 thread

Well, I didn't know either. Kinda lost interest after the old crew left as it got much less entertaining and the humor disappeared.

I enjoy both now tbh, both have their ups and downs. Could do with less celebs chatting on both though.

Have you been living under a rock?

Pretty much, i'm in New Zealand, so, technically, i'm 'under' this 'rock' i.e, Planet earth ;) :D

Didn't know it started this weekend as funnily enough, BBC don't advertise in NZ, but nice one, can't wait to watch it when it's available here :)

He's much better on his own making YouTube videos, working with Drive etc. On TV he just appears uncomfortable.

His own segments and the stuff he does on TG YouTube are brilliant - problem is IMO him and Rory while very different as people, etc. kind of occupy the same slot in the line up of 3 characters there needs to be that 3rd character that ties it all together when in the studio, etc. if necessarily alternating between Chris and Rory per episode or something to make the space for someone else who actually works with whichever other 2 there is.

Matt le blanc is genuinely awful in it. So wooden. Should be three idiotic brits having a laugh together. The mix is completely odd and difficult to watch for me.

I adored Matt in friends primarily because the context of the show suited him. A British institution with a seriously tough act to follow does not suit him.

Keep the other two (mainly Chris Harris) and then find the best you tuber you can get - the geezer from Carwow is really great I think

I think they just had to cobble together some presenters who were: not sacked, met the BBC's ultra P.C standards, were not in prison for sex offenses :P

I will watch this again. The last series was OK (the one before with Chris Evans was an abomination), but it still isn't as good as the Grand Tour. Quite happy to have two good quality car programmes to watch though.

I actually think he (Matt) understands the spirit of Top Gear better than most - I find his performance a bit mixed at times in TG but ultimately I think he is the only person who could continue Top Gear in some form of what it became famous for without failing hard trying to do something new with it or failing hard just trying to ape the previous 3.

ive still not watched any of this TG without our lord and saviour JC,
il have to have a look at Wiki and see who they have had on for the star in the reasonable priced car sections of the show and avoid them, and hate them as Scabs!

The grand tour and the berks are no where near as brilliant as the fan boys make them out to be and the new top gear is no where near as bad.
