The "Top Gear", Season 24/25/26 thread

Really enjoyed that first episode, some of the interactions were a little wooden between them but that'll go as they get more comfortable. Unless TGT really improves next series I think I'll go back to just watching TG.

Ferrari segment was spectacular.

The chemistry doesn't work, their personalities (Rory and Chris especially) are all fairly similar; stubborn and argumentative, Matt is a decent contrast to the other two as he is quite likeable and has a sense of humour. Even though the old cast all have these qualities they each have their own traits that work well together; James is the wise old bloke, Hammond is the naive chav (although becoming more of a **** in TGT), Jeremy is the grumpy stubborn mule.

That was fun. The Ferrari segment was good, and the challenge fun. Some good one liners too.

I really think they need to find their own format though, it still feels like an imitation of the Clarkson years.
I don't think they'll give up the format lightly as it's essentially what they own which is why TGT seems a bit strange with things being almost exactly the same but not.

I really enjoyed the show last night, i also think the chemistry between the three will grow. There were little bits that felt a bit forced, but i thought that even with TGT too. Can't wait for the next episode.

No chemistry between the guys, and was not very "exciting"... HOWEVER, good to have back on and good to have something to have on in the background on a sunday again - and... NO CHRIS EVANS!!!!

To have this and TGT to watch I will be entertained. I'm not going to compare with TGT as they are now completely different shows.

I like the chemistry and puerile behaviour of the old gits on TGT, but the format of TG is like an old pair of boots, but they need to make it their own.

But yeah, happy it's back on, but nonetheless looking forward to TGT being back on.

Oh and nice to have a reasonable car, as a star in a car.

Had me laughing at quite a few points, many more than what I would at TGT. A definite improvement over last series and I'm looking forward to the next one. TGT I was simply watching for the sake of it, far too many annoying pieces in that.

Just watched extra gear pretty decent but the new presenter is horrid get the impression he knows jack **** about cars :p

He is a comedian with some presenter and little to no car background right? (find him quite annoying personally - they should have left Rory doing it it suited his style better).

Any one else think there was an almighty row when he smacked his Volvo into the back of the Merc?
I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit of a hissy fit from Matt and a telling off from the producers for Chris. That was quite a shunt and if nothing else would have been a pain in the neck if they had to source another car to finish filming the segment.

As for the show, yes. More of that please because personally I found that a good watch. Harris has proven me wrong and fits into the role perfectly now.

I did think it was a bit lame saying it was too cold to do a lap in the Fxxk though. Why not just say the owner or Ferrari wasn't having it or whatever the real reason was.

Seems completely plausible to me, if you were the owner would you want it being driven in cold, wet, mucky conditions? There are plenty of people with much more mundane garage queen cars that won't even think about taking it out unless it's going to be warm and bone dry.
