Is there a reliable DDR2 timings table etc around ie something that tells u what memory divider the AM2 cpu uses at a given FSB??

Not tried more yet, no. Wanted to improve my cooling, which I've done so might crank it abit more. Got my HT speed set @ 400MHz, not sure what if I should try & set it higher or if that even has any benefit tbh

Yep, thats what happens to mine.

At the moment ive got my 3800 @ 2.8Ghz @333mhz Ram. It will not work at all set at 400mhz.

Have you tried Overclocking more? Whats you HT set at? 400mhz, 600mhz or 800mhz?

Did you have to losen your RAM timings at all MarkyB? I just manually set the RAM to 166MHz and upped the CPU freq to 230 to give 2.3GHz and it was having none of it. I got a black screen and it looked like it was trying to run the crash free bios utility or something strange, as it was searching the CD drive & usb devices for the A8R32-MVP.rom file?! Any ideas anyone?

Yeh I had that when I tried to take the ram even higher, tried to locate the Bios. So I turned off and rebooted and all was ok.

Ive just left the Ram timmings, havent really had chance to play around with them, although its let me push to 2.8Ghz, ill think ill leave it :D

Try upping the Voltage, aim for 1.4v, Make sure you set the HT at 400mhz to start off (you can always go higher once it boots) and the ram should automaticaly downclock.

TABLE UPDATED

@ Azza and TheCrow ... RAM FSB 1040? Sounds a little far-fetched to me seeing as you both have S939 systems. Can you check those for me :)

edited it A.N. Other

I copied TheCrow's layout and must have forgot to cgange it, all is well now though.

Been playing around this afternoon and managed a pretty good clock...

CPU Clock: 2800Mhz
HTT: 280
RAM FSB: 180.2 (Cheap and nasty PC3200 from Samsung)
Timings: 2.5, 3, 3, 8 1T
VCore: 1.5V
HT: 3x
Core: Manchester
Cooling: Stock AMD
Mobo: Asus A8N-E
Case: Thermaltake Soprano 2x120mm 1x92mm
1m SuperPI: 32secs

Did a prime test for an hour and temps were...

Idle
CPU 38c
MB 32c

Load 53c (Toasty!)
MB 35c

Think ill invest in a Zalman :)

Here's my attempt at o/cing my 3800x2 (939)

PU Clock: 2400Mhz
HTT: 240
RAM FSB: 200 (Corsair Value stuff - on 333 divider / speed setting)
Timings: 3, 3, 4, 8 1T
VCore: 1.49V
HT: 4x
Core: Manchester
Cooling: XP-90c
Mobo: Abit KN8 Ultra

Would like to get a bit more out of this considering what very one else can get has anyone got any suggestions how......?

Thanks Scythe do offer some nice heatsinks hmmm :) What a dilemma

Update
======

CPU Clock: 2850Mhz
HTT: 285
RAM FSB: 200
Timings: 2.5, 3, 3, 8 1T
VCore: 1.5V
HT: 3x
Core: Manchester
Cooling: Stock AMD
Mobo: Asus A8N-E
Case: Thermaltake Soprano 2x120mm 1x92mm
1m SuperPI: 36secs

PI time is 36 as my RAM just can keep up the pace at 285MHz bus - I have to up the divider meaning its slooooowwwer again :( Still at 2850MHz it beats the FX62 @ Stock in all the Sandra CPU tests which is what its all about :D

@feriso: See if this thread helps, its relevent to my mobo and another chaps but it might give you some ideas :)

BUMP (and as A.N.Other wanted my results :p )

CPU Clock: 2400MHz
HTT/CPU freq: 240
HT: x4
RAM FSB: 200
Timings: 2-3-3-6 1T
VCore: 1.35v
Core: Manchester
Cooling: Arctic Freezer Pro 64
Mobo: A8R32-MVP Deluxe

Haven't had much time to toy around with this so I'm sure I'll be able to achieve higher.

EDIT: now @ 2.6GHz, CPU freq 260, RAM 216 MHz, vcore 1.375. Stepping is LDBFE 0623 XPMW

Thanks....it can run at 2800MHz 24/7 on stock volts but my RAM struggles to run at 233 or somewhere around there. Its actually slower in super pi at 3gig than at 2750 due to me having to set such a damn low memory divider...really need to find some tccd, unfortunately an auction site doesn't have any.

Was just a random chip off an auction site didnt even know the stepping lol but turned out to be good.

Im not so sure it could beat your chip as mine doesnt like vcores over 1.6v else at any clock it just wont boot windows...might be a cooling or PSU problem though im not sure...I reckon with 1.7v and a vapo it might do good if the problem is cooling.

UPDATED TABLE

Due to Beansprout's uploader going a bit funny , I didn't realise the links for the file downloads weren't working. Anyway, I've used a different file hosting service now, so they're working again.

It looks as if I might have a new stable overclock here after popping the lid, which did cut off about 25c of core temp. :D
I'm getting a new psu early next week, maybe that will get me even further. Anyhow, results so far:
