The Updated X2 3800+ Overclocking Thread ...

hmmm

mixed blessing.. awesome clocks, tons of noise and the temptation to push your pc until it breaks (which it did.. twice).

I won't be hurrying back, lets just see what I can get out of this 3800 when its under water, I bet its good for 2.8+ it's sat at 2.6 now with 1.45v.

Hey im not on there

X2 3800+ Manchester at 2.4ghz stock cooling 1.375Volts
Motherboard is MSI neo2 Bios 1.B 240HTT x 4
Ram is 2GB OCZ Platinum 2-3-2-5-1T at 200mhz 4:5 ratio

Got one of these on Friday and only got a chance to play with it this afternoon.

I am very impressed

It did 2.75 on stock volts with stock cooler and did 2.85 at 1.425 volts in bios (1.47 in cpu-z). It will do more but is being held back by the mobo (A8N SLI Deluxe - won't do 290 htt).

Here is a screenie of the overclock so far but don't put me on the list until I've had a chance to push it on the DFI expert with the SI120 tomorrow - I may well get 3.0 out of this :D

Looks like the perfect excuse to get the vapochill LS I've been thinking about.

I will post back tomorrow with the results from the DFI and the stepping.

Stan :)

Updated the table.

As requested, Stan's been left out for the minute. Also, weescott, you're not going in until you give me some more information ;)!

// EDIT // As much as I'd like to put you in, lawrywild, this is an overclocking thread for the AMD X2 3800+. Sorry!

A well deserved bow I think!

I'm getting a custom water cooling setup over the summer, so we'll see if I can't boost my OC, although I doubt I'll quite match yours :o.

Ive just sold my mach 2 GT so i will see what my chip can do on air. Only ever been used sub zero

my 3800 was only ever under phase but I reckon it broke it in ;)

now with air it seems very keen to go faster :D

OK. Slight problem with the DFI board, the Mushkin Redline on it is broken.

I did get it to boot (briefly) at 2.90 but the RAM killed it - even on a low divider.

I'm going away on Thursday so I don't have time to RMA it until I get back so I've ordered some G.Skill to replace it for just now (cba switching RAM around various rigs). Hopefully the new stuff will be here in time for me to have a play before I go away.

You may as well put me on the list for now but hopefully, things will change in the next couple of days :p
