Twirly, your mouth to throat is what we call mouth to lung, you suck to your mouth and then inhale that vapor to your lungs as you would have on a cig...
Generally tanks are Not spring loaded, the 510 on your mod should be though?

What is considered the best rba. I have the Kayfun and The Russian (Kafun clone with a screw that adjusts airflow) Back in the day every atty was based on the Kayfun, have things changed in design and concept?

I did have the original Rose, but that thing was fiddly as **** and the juice flow control was one huge gimmick so I am not looking for anything like that.

Come on Twirly you ain't that green;)

Whats considered best, is as with most things a matter of personal preference.
Some people swear that the rose is the best or the UTA/UTA2, I personally think that most attys are over complicated and gimmicky.
I exclusively used one of my own (a mesh genny) and a Spheroid for over a year because they were/are trouble free with no gimmicks IMO.
At the moment I'm using a Merkava from mini e-cig (£65), adjustable air flow and juice control and it just works, flawlessly(really impressed with it) very simple yet clever design.
For me keeping it simple is key, also setting up properly and knowing what works best with your gear i.e mod ,juice, ohms and wicking materials.
Trial and error, but all part of the fun!

(I really dont like messing about)

It's rather different but I wouldn't say it was trouble free.. you have to get your filler just right and your wicking too... :)

Having said that... guess who received a heron today? Me that's who... lol

True, just worked for me from the off;)

Nice, its a good flavour atty like the Spheroid, when you've finished fumbling around with it,Dibs :p

I watched so many build guides but it just wouldn't wick fast enough till I watched AW's.. the man is a genius, worked straight away and consistent too..

I think she's a keeper as I don't sell anything lol.. unless is a flavor to someone. I'm still waiting on the 510 kit for it, but it's much simpler than the spheriod in auto dripper mode.. no floods no leaks.. I just rewicked it due to dry hits and it's much better with more cotton.

On my doge with a similar build albeit dual coil, 4-6 big lung hits before she's dry.

Will really have to get around trying a dual titanium build this weekend.

Got all the parts for me DNA200 this week and finally finished it last night... so without further a do... I give you DNA200 in a Hammond 1550p box running Dual 18650 so its limited to 133w.

The box is messy on the outside from the masking tape, ive not had a chance to clean it up yet, but it works and that's the main thing..

Ipv D2, around the size of your 30w istick and packs 75w as well as temp control where required, you will need to buy a battery and charger for it though.

snip..

Nice... I'm assuming it's serial as it's 133w? and the Hammond 1550p is the same box size that SVB use for his mods?

Not downgrading your work, as you done a very good job.. but I wonder if nigel will sell people just the boxes painted and with the holes cut out. His paint work is really out of this world. The photos of the SVBs don't do them justice.

Yeah Slinxy, its serial, 133w limit... and yes its the same 1550p that is used for the SVB, I had one of his DNA30 SVB and the paintwork was amazing, a beautiful mod.

There she blows:

My 1st build. I didn't blow myself up, and it actually works. Doge v2 with 26 AWG Kanthal A1, 1 Ohm.

How often do you need to juice up on these things? Every half a dozen puffs or so?

I love that post design and screws, do you know if there are any RDA's with the same screw/post design, but isn't the doge? Aesthetically I don't think it's very pleasing at all :-(

So I'm decided to make a switch from the cigs. I've found myself creeping up from a box of 20 a week at the start of the year to something like 70 a week at the moment. Its getting expensive and it can't be good for my poor lungs.

Going to opt for the cheap as chips starter bundle on the first page, just something to get me going and start from there.

Are there any recommendations around liquids for a complete beginner. There seems to be a whole range that are supposed to be close to tobacco flavor, any personal experience with any?

Cheers

I forgot about Genesis atomizers. I used to love them as they gave the best flavour but were impractical for me as I was never any good at building them and always had burnt taste and you could only get it to wick by holding it at an angle. Was there ever a substitute wicking material for them besides the mesh? I remember trying bastos and cotton with them but had zero success.

Nice work. Wish these came with lazer cut out holes, I know you can get the shapeways faces but they are 3D cut out plastic of some kind. The Boxer mod is also but then that has some special coating on it that makes it textured and generally nice.

Twirly, the Hammond boxes are not really made for box mods, they just suit the job rather well, so no seller is likely to offer them lazer cut, but that would be handy, but then again, part of the fun is the challenge... I have a Boxer on order, this was just built Because I could.. and there is no better pleasure then vaping on a home made mod and it cost me less than any DNA200 mod currently on the market :)

Very nice DNA 200 box mod , function is still the key factor when it comes to mods for me.
Mine is being soldered this weekend & just waiting on my Li-Po's to arrive.
I,ve gone for a Hammond 1590BBK to fit the Li-Po & Fat Daddy , just the fixing the screen into position is giving me palpation's :)
I was going to get 1 of the 3D printed chip & screen holders , would only have to do 1 opening but that would have been to easy .

Im all about small mods but good battery life... I have already build a DNA40 in the same size box but with dual 18650 in parallel. I just love the size and form of the 1550p.
My screen is being held in place simply by a piece of rubber, I got one of the hygiene drip tips and cut it up to make a curved brace as it were, then pushed it in between the chip and screen, pressed it flat while I positioned the screen and then released it, worked a treat and has a good firm grip on it, does not move at all :)

Does anyone know of a mod, which is the same height as a D2, does the same as a D2, but houses 2 18650's in parellel (thus making is a bit wider I'd guess! ;))

Bought 20ml of nipple milk from RAW vapes this week as it's juice of the week on UKVT, it's really not to my liking.

I think it's a custom made board and chip for P4U, the sx130h that's listed on yihi site is very different from the ones that are in the d2.

For the price of the mod, it might be worth buying on for the board and buttons and doing a transfer to another box that will hold dual 18650s.
